Hello guys,

I entered the US yesterday using my b1/b2 visa.  Our POE is on Newark (EWR). is it normal for the immigration officer not to stamp passport? I've had stamps on all my entry before so this is a bit weird for me.  I checked my I-94 online, it's updated.  Well,  at least it's on record.

No i didn't use the kiosk.  Yes, i will definitely do make a copy of my I-94. Just in case.  Just wondering if its normal for them not to stamp visitor passport

Hopefully the new normal.

No one needs useless stamps cluttering their passport.  I hated stamps in my passport when I had a GC and after I learned GC holders don’t have to present a passport I stopped.

I know for citizens they don't stamp anything. But for visitors,  they normally does.

From well before I became a citizen, I haven’t even used my US passport yet (thanks covid). They always used to stamp my passport for LPR entry, then a couple/few years back they stopped.

CBP is slowly entering the digital age, maybe reluctantly, but they are using stamps less and less.

This might be a stupid question, but how do visitors know how long they're admitted for if they don't get a stamp?

On your I-94 online.  It's indicated there.

Hopefully, though i am yet to get any comment about a visitor without a stamp.

Doesn't matter, it's the i-94 that matters. If that's updated and shows your info then that's all you need.

They hardly ever stamped my wife's passport when she came as a visitor, mostly going through POEs at Vancouver pre-clearance and sometimes Seattle airport. Not exactly the same thing since Canadians don't need a B2, but I doubt it matters anymore for you. They did actually stamp for her K-1 though.
