Vaccination records for the medical check for K-1

Hello all,

I am stressed about the format of vaccination records that would be needed for the medical check before my K-1 interview.

I am a citizen of another EU country but currently live in the Czech Republic, where I will also have my medical and my interview. What kind of records/proof of childhood vaccinations would you normally need for your medical? I do not have my childhood vaccine booklet anymore. What I am thinking is requesting all the records from my home country (in my native language) or getting a new vaccine booklet in my home country that I can take to my medical here in the Czech Republic. I am concerned that it will not be OK as my records are from another country and most likely, in another language.

Am I overthinking this? Or do I need to be very thorough in the proof that I provide?

Thank you,

Don't stress.  One option is to just get the required vaccinations again during the medical exam.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

You can get your vaccine records translated.  For USCIS/DOS you can self translate with a signed statement stating that you are fluent in the language and that the translation is accurate and complete.

But medical records may require translation by someone in a medical field for knowledge of the terminology.

Also, perhaps contact a medical center in Czech Republic and ask if they accept foreign vaccine records.

Which vaccines? You only need a couple for the K-1. I didn’t have any records of any childhood vaccinations when I had my interview. I grew up in a different country to where I was interviewed.

Just get those few vaccines that you need for the age group that you are and you’re good.

Is this what you are referring to? Looking at the chart here, it would seem that for over 21 year-olds only need Td/Tdap, Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella and Influenza. Do you know if that list is accurate?

So it does seem that I am panicking for nothing :D

If the medical examiner is not satisfied that you have the required vaccines you will have to get them again if you want a visa.

That looks like about 2 or 3 injections at most. There is no reason to panic over vaccinations.

Flu you won’t need because we are not in flu season (unless you think your interview will not be until October). You will need MMR and the Tdap and varicella (unless you are from the UK).

I got my GP to arrange for pathology to test antibodies in my blood for those vaccines required for immigration and gave the results to the civil surgeon when I did my medical... I found this the cheapest option... and was glad I did since the medical wanted to charge a fortune

before letting them do the vaccines during the medical be sure to check how much they charge the local civil surgeon here would have cost me nearly 1k for him to do it

if the EU country your from is part of the commonwealth theres a yellow vaccination passport you can get too, it’s been around for 20 years plus and I have one
