No, not yet. It's at NVC.

Oh I see. Yes you can use the application ID  "RDJ........." number to look up the case on  https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx page. I don't know what other type of number you would need.

You could start getting all the information for your DS160 now if you wanted.

We called the doctor in Sao Paulo to schedule the medical exams, they said that we needed to send an email. I thought the wait might be long like Rio, but they emailed back in less than an hour with an exam date of Sept 30. We then changed our interview date to October 8.

That's great.  I'm not sure what the issue is with the doctor in Rio, but it's definitely hard to get any kind of feedback via email.  We've emailed 3 times starting 10 days ago and have heard nothing back at all.

We received the go ahead to schedule the interview from the consulate this morning. Their e-mail was in response to a message that I sent to the consulate so I think there is value in reaching out to them if anyone is still waiting.

It worked out for us that way too. Also, by scheduling the medical in Brasilia we were able to get everything in a shorter timeframe. BH was also more flexible than Rio/SP presently. We should have visa in hand by the end of November now.

Good luck with your process.

Thanks! We're inquiring with Belo Horizonte. We scheduled the interview for the beginning of November. Everything is moving so quickly now. It's almost hard to believe.

Right!! Just received noticed today that my case is moving from NVC to the embassy. Months ago this timeline was way beyond my most optimistic day! On a different note, how is the wait for booking medical appointments in Belo Horizonte?

Hopefully I can let you know today. My fiancée e-mailed the doctor last night and she responded this morning. We need to provide her with the letter from the consulate before she will schedule us.

We emailed everyday to multiple email addresses that we could find. They responded telling us that we don't need to repeatedly email them the same thing but it seems like it expedited the process.

If you can't get the Doctor in Rio you might be able to look into another state.

I'm going to write this here in case anyone tries to search for something similar on this site. My fiancée attempted to get her police certificate from RS and was unable to do it online. She physically went to the state police and discovered what appeared to be a crime on her record. It turned out to be a mistake - she was the victim, but she was listed as the accused. The prosecutor realized it was a mistake and declined to go any further, but it remained on her record. The police certificate only contains a list of crimes - it doesn't say whether a person was arrested, found not guilty, guilty, or even if there was a mistake. It's difficult to understand why the consulate wants this exact document when any accusation can appear on there without any further action. The police will not remove something from a police certificate unless the accused takes affirmative action to get it removed - even if it's a mistake or a prosecutor declines to prosecute.

In any event, if anyone else experiences this problem in Rio Grande do Sul (or maybe other states?) then the court can provide a document to take to the state police and they will remove it from the police certificate on the same day. We now have a spotless police certificate and are excited to interview.

For Belo Horizonte: She doesn't have wide availability, but she has a smattering of dates throughout October. The earliest was October 8, but then the next one was available toward the end of the month. Also, she wouldn't schedule us without providing the e-mail that shows the consulate gave us permission to schedule the interview. She did not accept the interview confirmation e-mail.

This was very helpful, thank you! I still need to wait for the Consulate's email, just gathering information for now.

Hello again! I just saw this today, and I thought I would share the info here since I know a lot of you have schedule the medical exam or are waiting to do so like me.

Effective today (October 1st) the CDC will require K1 visa applicants to receive a full COVID-19 vaccine as part of their medical exam, prior to being issued the visa. All the vaccines offered in Brazil (Coronavac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Janssen) make the criteria of being approved through the WHO.
