Thank you for the updates. Hope you get an interview date soon!

I'm thinking the second email they've sent us may be what used to be in a physical packet.  It seems to have a lot of the same questions and we can schedule the interview now.

As an update,  there was no physical packet sent.  We are able to schedule our interview online and the consulate will bring up the info when the interview is conducted so there is no need to bring the duplicate information.

They didn't send us any physical packet. We got an email with the scheduled interview date and time. Unfortunately, while the medical results were completed almost a week before the interview, apparently they didn't get sent, so they couldn't be reviewed at the time of the interview. We're now in an Application Received status and awaiting final approval/issue. This is the worst part, waiting. Interview was on the 18th. Says the case was created on the 20th. So I guess now we're just waiting for them to get through it. Would be nice to know if others have experienced anything similar and what the approval times look like if they weren't able to approve you directly at the time of the interview.

Would you mind sharing which city you attended the medical exams?

The subject line we got was  "The National Visa Center sent your K1 visa petition to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil"

Yes, you are correct about the subject line. The sender is NVC-do-no-reply.  thanks for catching my mistake.

Status was set to Issued yesterday, so amazingly they seem to be pretty efficient all things considered. Very thankful right now. Won't be final for us I think until we have that visa in hand though.

Since the NVC informed us they sent it, the whole time has been about a month and a half.

Just be ready to get the medical information done as quickly as possible and fill out the DS-160 form(s) as soon as you have the opportunity.

Did you receive an email from the consulate? We were advised that we could not schedule an interview until we received the email from the consulate. Our petition has been "Ready" for a couple of weeks. thank you

Don't know if this is correct or not, but what others is telling me is that once status changes to Ready you can go ahead and schedule your interview. The consulate used to schedule the interview and contact you but that's no longer the case. Again don't know if this is right or not, this is what I've read from others going through the process.

We received an email with all the details.

Is anyone else scheduling their medical exam in rio? It's difficult to get prompt feedback from the doctor there.
