If you're still waiting on NOA2 then your case is still with USCIS. The embassy backlog isn't affecting you just yet.  Once your case gets to NVC after NOA2 then it may.

Yes, I thought that USCIS was backlogged also. Read a couple of stories a people that were waiting about 11 months for noa2. It's so many variations in situations it's hard to know what's true and what's not and how it affects your own personal case. As always waiting is the hardest part

I'm still waiting for the NOA2 as well, but keeping an eye on the embassy's backlog. I saw the Department of State just released a statement about how they are prioritizing the visas, if anyone is interested in taking a look:

There is a good estimated timeline here on VJ for cases at your stage.

I've heard more people are being scheduled for  K1 interviews in July and August. So far,  only heard about 2 couples who weren't part of the lawsuit getting their interviews scheduled.  Both of those couples received NOA2 in May 2020.

That's good to know. I hope the embassies can pick up the pace for the k1 visa interviews. I thought they were when I looked at the k1 visas issued for Brazil in March 2021 compared to the prior months. Now waiting to see if they post the April data in https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/nonimmigrant-visa-statistics/monthly-nonimmigrant-visa-issuances.html.

Everyone here has been waiting for so long! I hope we can all be with our loved ones soon.

I've been checking daily for when the May data comes out... April only has two K1's coming out of Rio which while disappointing makes sense. I'm hoping there's an upswing in volume now that they've included K-1 in their priorities.

Yeah,  it seems things haven't picked up much at all aside from the people who were part of the lawsuit and got prioritized.

Same!! I've been checking every day to see the numbers from May! It's already June 30th, and nothing.

Hi everybody - can anyone tell me if hiring a lawyer can help make the process go faster for me?  (NOA2 august 2020)

If you hire the lawyers that are suing the government, maybe.  But I'm not sure if they are taking new clients at this point.

They finally released the May data! They issued 26 visas from Rio in May. So hopefully we are entering an upwards trend now and we can get the line moving from here on!

That's great news,  thanks for sharing!  Now maybe they can hurry up and give us the June numbers haha.

Thanks for passing along.. I looked here, still not high compared to other smaller regional countries though, and it doesn't line up to the optimism my fiancée was seeing in some FB group poses. We'll see how June reads though.
