I wonder who we pissed off in Rio. We had not yet received a tracking number a week after going ISSUED on CEAC so I sent them an e-mail last night inquiring whether or not the visa had been sent. They sent my fiancee an e-mail this morning with no words - just what appears to be a tracking number (but no link). It looks like a number for Correios, but of course nothing shows up yet when I put it into their tracking site.

It took five weeks from the interview to get anything and you can expect about two weeks from the date of issue to get an email with tracking numbers

How long did it take for it to show as issued on CEAC?

29 days. Don't necessarily take that as typical if you're still waiting. Others in this thread have had it come much faster. We were initially REFUSED while they were 'waiting' for the medical.

Been 33 days since our interview. Still waiting. I'm guessing things slow down during the holidays.

Mine just went Issued yesterday, 18 days after the interview. Let's see how long it'll take to get a tracking number.

Sadly I’m back in the boat with those that are waiting. My fiancée opened the packet that says not to open. Don’t do that. The consulate isn’t very friendly about it so I’m stuck in Brazil while we wait for them to reseal the packet and send it back. They refuse to give any information about the process beyond instructing us not to make arrangements to go to the United States.

Wow sorry to hear that! Keep us posted and hope they can process it quickly for you. 

 

They wrote back to us and told us it may be up to 60 days after the interview and all supporting documents are provided before they issue the visa.

It’s not pleasant dealing with them. I wrote to them a month ago as soon as she opened the packet. I knew from VJ that we would have to send the packet back. I had to call them after two weeks without a response and abuse the emergency line to get them to respond to us with instructions on where to send the packet. I told them that we had already made complicated arrangements to go to the US because we have to go with 3 dogs. I know I’m complaining here over a mistake that we made, but it’s a huge pain to coordinate all of this because of the CDC dog ban and the airlines’ requirements. I had hoped that 5 weeks would have been enough to get the visa back but they won’t commit to anything. I even offered to fly to Rio but they just won’t say anything besides don’t make any arrangements.

Finally got the tracking number today. Overall, a little bit over a month from the interview until I actually get the passport (which should arrive by Tuesday next week).

Did you get expedited delivery or is it arriving at your local consulate?

I chose delivery through the postal service.

Pretty sure it can't be changed after the fact. Remember seeing it was only possible up until 6am of the day of the interview. Plus, it has already been mailed, so I'll be getting it soon.

Quick update: just got the package today. Exactly 30 days after the interview in Rio.
