Oh, when were your appointment for ? And what did they say in order to get your biometrics done earlier? I think I'm gonna try that too but I'd like to know what to say etc ?? Thank you so much!!

The appointment was originally for August 2nd! We just asked if there was availability to do it today and they said not at that moment, but we could wait 30 minutes and if someone had not shown up for their app, we could take their appointment slot.

I just went to the WPB Biometric place to see if I could do an early walk in and the lady was rude and told me not to, not even waiting outside, simply no. I'll just avoid any trouble with this people at the door and just go on my appointment date.

The place is in like a mall, horrible.

I had my biometrics appointment yesterday at San Fernando ASC in San Fernando, California.

My appointment was for 9 AM; I showed up at 8:40 and got in line outside. They were only allowing 30 people in the building at a time (COVID restrictions I guess) so there was quite a big line. No security checkpoint to get inside the building, though they had one employee going through the people in line checking IDs and appointment notices. Phones had to be shut off before entering the building.

Once inside there was a short line for the receptionist, who checked ID and paperwork again, and then provided a number and stamped my I-797C appointment notice. I got my number assigned at 9:08 AM. There was a DMV-style waiting area with socially-distanced seating. I waited about 15 more minutes before my number was called.

One person called before me had a backpack, which they weren't allowed to bring into the fingerprinting cubicle at all - they had to leave it at the reception desk. I had a small tote bag with me, which I was allowed to bring into the cubicle but I had to place it on the ground out of reach.

The technician took my photo and then fingerprints. Left 4 fingers at once ("slap"), then a full roll of the thumb and 4 fingers individually. Then the same on the right hand. A lot more comprehensive than the fingerprint scanners they use at ports of entry. He had some trouble with my fingerprints and had to redo a few of them, so hopefully there won't be any issues.

I was out of there by about 9:30 AM, 30 minutes after my appointment time. So a pretty smooth process overall. My case tracking for I-485 and I-765 were updated today to show that my fingerprints were taken.

My I-485 case status changed to "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" on Monday (the next business day after my biometrics). So that's probably a good sign that my fingerprints were accepted and there's no RFE coming. Los Angeles seems to be one of the more backlogged offices, so I'm not expecting an interview notice anytime soon, but maybe I'll get lucky.
