Our case as well was transferred from Nebraska to Vermont. No agent can give me a clear date, some say February (which is when we applied) and give the exact date we applied. They insist it was sent to Nebraska, then transferred to Vermont.

I am feeling very anxious and frustrated. We waited so long to get to this stage, only to be quoted another 24-36 months PLUS the time to get an interview... It's very disheartening.

I have a peer who was a Jan 2021 filer who was sent to Vermont and approved already.

Oh it is very frustrating.  But I think the dates are all arbitrary.  And like you said a Jan 2021 filer was already approved.  Hang it there!

I have heard the same thing, Vermont as the collector of more complicated cases.  But given that it was tranferred the same day the NOA1 was issued, it seems unlikely that they were able to determine that quickly that it was a "complicated case".  I'm just wondering, if your case gets transferred after you have already been waiting at one center for say one year, does the wait time start over at the new center?  So would your wait time for Vermon still be 28-36 months or they would reduce it by the time you already waited?

I believe it goes from your original PD...because if you go to USCIS processing times page, it gives you months then references a PD date.

the Potomac waiting time is carried over to Vermont, which means my 18 months is half of Vermont's processing time. yay...

I agree, yours is a casual case allocation when assigning new cases to a SC. Mine was claimed to be a workload reallocation (from a more overloaded to a less overloaded SC), despite lack of update on the case status or else.

PD: 14 Apr 2020

Just an update from our end:

4 May - Filed a inquiry and USCIS said they would respond within 60 days.

6 July -  63 days with no movement so we asked our lawyer for a chase up.

8 July - Received a notification that our case has changed to "Being Actively Reviewed"

Advice for those who have waited for over a year - do whatever you can to get a Tier 1 or Tier 2 officer to submit an inquiry request on your behalf since most of us will face the "your case is still within the posted processing timeline" when we try to submit an inquiry on the website. We got lucky in that the officer thought our case was still in Texas (where we originally filed) and so they agreed to submit an inquiry since it was outside of Texas' processing timeline.

How do you get them to submit an inquiry if your case is still within processing time when calling if you know before hand that your Processing location will show correctly ( mine is VSC) when you call? I wonder if they keep track of your calls to USCIS. Like a history showing what was said with a date.

Received at NVC Saturday, paid fees Monday, was marked as PAID Tuesday, and just started submitting things today. Have to wait for my police check for 4-5 weeks 😭 so will be a while for another update

This is good to know!  It definitely seems to pay off if you make inquiries.  Thanks for this information.  Please keep us posted!
