Case moved to Vermont 😭   I am totally confused!  When we submitted our online i130, it said on my USCIS account that the case was being processed in Nebraska.  Then one week later I got the NOA1 in the mail and it said, it was being processed in Texas.  Today, a few weeks after getting the NOA1, I called the USCIS to find out what center our case is at and she said Vermont.  I asked when the case was transferred and she said March 17, 2021, the day we submitted the i130 online.  So basically my i130 petition went to three different centers in one day???  Also why does it says on the Processing Times part of the website that they are processing case submitted October 2020 when it's supposed to take 28-36 months to get approved in the Vermont center.  Are those stats really accurate?

Hi our case we were told that it was transferred to Vermont in February we apply June 2020 my lawyers trying to find out what's going on and why it was transferred but in the meantime my Visa journey has its processing times estimated I believe from the people that are signed up on this website the real USC IS processing times you need to Google and look at those Vermont is on I believe August of 2018 or April of 2018. I also YOUTUBE videos about immigration cases being transferred and what that means.  Good luck!

All it means is Nebraska had a handful of petitions (and maybe low staff) so they transfer to a office for processing

the  rhyme or reason  is a decision the offices often make

lawyers and facebook and VJ and twitter and youtube can not give you a definite reason / neither could the USCIS if you called

I suspect with summer vacations coming up,  we will see more of this

We had a similar experience: NOA1 from Nebraska (both digital receipt and the mailed one). Checked with EMMA and its in Vermont.

No rhyme or reason as to why it was moved. I felt incredibly discouraged and heartbroken because of the processing times in Vermont.  I can only pray it's actually faster than it says. :(

That makes sense.  The thing that is so distressing is that the processing time is so long for Vermont.  It seems untenable to wait for 3 years just to get the NOA2.  If the data on the processing times part of VJ is correct, the estimate of 28-36 months is grossly overestimated.

I'm so sorry!  Yes we were devastated too really.  I have no frame of reference for something like this.  To put in an application and then just having to wait for years potentially. I'm hoping they are sending to Vermont because they are inceasing personnel there too!  Praying too!

It's good you have a lawyer to advocate for you!  I hope you get some answers.  The agent at USCIS did indicate that it could be moved again.  We were able to get married in a matter of days where it typically takes weeks, and in the midst of the pandemic, so I am hoping for another miracle.  Best of luck to you!

Look at the disparity between the processing times!😱 😱 😱

USCIS Processing Center Times

California 19-25 months

Nebraska 2-7 months

Potomac 12.5-16.5 months

Texas 9-12 months

Vermont 28-36 months

i checked a lot of timelines on VJ.found that some transfer to Vermont  also got approved in 6 month.

so i think the better way is ...keep positive and waiting for the good news.

i will pray for that.

Thank you for these encouraging words.   I do feel like I am starting to descend into a pit of despair which doesn't help anything. so I will do what you said and stay positive!  Praying too! 🙏  I tried looking at timelines but only looked at those that had been approved.  I couldn't find anyone who was at Vermont!  I"ll look elsewhere on the site.  So what should I list now as my processing center?  Should I say it was transferred to Vermont?  They say it was "transferred" on the day I submitted my i130 online, so for me that doesn't really constitute a transfer.
