Category: IR5 parent of US citizen

My parents  had their interview scheduled for last March 2020 before we were notified that it was canceled due to Covid-19 situation.

What we have to do know wait for the Consulate  to call for new appointment ? do we have to do anything from our end to initiate this process or are we going to be automatically notified once such a date is picked?

Thank you

Morocco is scheduling family based visa interviews slowly catching up (incha allah)

in February 67 IR1 and 79 CR1 spouse visa were issued

2 IR5 visas issued that month

March stats will be out at end of April

so,  there is light at end of tunnel

what is difficult now is to schedule the medical exam

if you and/or parents get notice to come for interview and they can not schedule the medical before the date of inerview,  make the 1st available medical exam possible,  attend the interview.   they will be put in AP (saying Refuse on CEAC site so don't worry)  and the embassy will hold a decision untill they receive the medical papers from DR

allah yekbel

They all ready did medical exam last year , they have to do it again !????

yes,  as the visa will be dated to expire 6 months from the date of medical /so these medicals are out of date

Casa , at this time is not asking for the 2 criminal reports to be redone but that can also change

US considers police reports to expire after a year. If it is more than a year since police reports and DS260 were done those will probably need to be redone too. Embassy will inform them of exactly what is needed once the interview has been rescheduled.

mine sat in NVC for over a year and they didn't ask for new one

and many from Morocco that are in long AP only have to redo the medical exam
