Goodday all.

My wife came in with a k1 visa July 2020.

We married & immediately applied fo social security card (number) Aug.2020. We got the card sent to us after 4weeks.

We filled for adjustments of status (485, 131, 751). In September 2020.
To our surprise, we received a second SS card in the mail same name but different number. We don’t know what to do.

anyone with this experience, pls share.
by the way we received work authorization already. Thanks

Call them but there's not much that can be done. Once the SSN is issued it can't get deleted. They'll most likely be already linked together and SSA will tell you to go on using the number you already used and to keep the other card somewhere safe.

Sometimes they take the card back so you can't loose it but the number will stick with you and there's nothing bad about it.
