Good Morning everyone,

Under the new administration I guess we don't know how they are going to look at things, but will it look bad upon me as the petitioner if my son has insurance we get subsidy for? I'm just not sure how they are favoring things with the petitioner lately. Thank you.

Insurance is not part of government assistance

did u include it as part of your income?

is it reported on tax returns?

is it SSI Social security insurance?

It's just the subsidy you get through the health marketplace. I haven't taken it yet because I'm trying to avoid any red flags but it would be a little easier financially.

I am pretty sure (from earlier research I did on I-944) that the healthcare Premium Tax Credit is *not* considered government assistance for Public Charge purposes (either the Old rules, the I-944 rules and we can only speculate about any future rules).  I don't have the links from what I read there.  IIRC (and I might not) I asked the same question here and some nice folks pointed me to the official language.  So...try the search function here with those key words.
