Hi all. We are expecting our application to be received by the NVC this week and we just wanted to know what documents are needed for this process.

The beneficiary is from the UK and we are expecting to be in the US in the next few weeks and we wanted to know what documents we should bring with us in preparation for the NVC stage.

Does anyone have a full list of documents required for this stage and when they are due. We want to know if we should apply for the police document now as we will be away when it is received to the home address.

Anything not answered through these links can likely be found by utilizing the search bar and scouring threads. There's loads of information out there specifically about this stage of the process.

I don't know what the backlog is for UK members, you can probably get an idea looking at your portal, but I understand that the police certificate needs to have been gotten within 6 months of the interview (despite being valid for a year). For instance, we got our police certificate when we first reached the NVC stage back in Aug/Sept, but because of lockdowns we will likely have to get another one before our interview.

Seeing when other English/UK CR1/IR1 members that have their interviews finished at the NVC might give you a good idea of how far in advance you should get your certificate. I've read of there being little issue with expediting it if need be.

All that being said, it doesn't hurt to go ahead and get it now, you can always get another one.
