Hey everyone.  My husband and me went with our 2 month old to our interview. The interview itself lasted 5 mins if that. The lady asked for pictures a few questions  and took my biometric etc and just said "okay you'll receive SOMETHING in the mail within 30 days"

She didn't really say if we were approved or denied.

I heard other people come out and talking about getting their green card etc in 30 days.  We had our 2 month old so i was thinking maybe they rushed it because of the baby

I was waiting for the your approved but got this instead so a little nervous.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks :)

This is only anecdotal, but my wife and I had about a five minute interview for her I751 as well.  In her case, she also had the N400 interview immediately afterward.  In your case, if your submission contained a lot of proof, the interview may have only been a formality, and the IO may have to get their supervisor to sign-off before approving the ROC.

Good Luck!

Thank you :) We had tons of organized information. She was very nice and even complimented our baby etc. She just asked. How did we meet, and then asked my husband how many times he visited me in india and then for pictures of us together and bank statements etc and that was it. She smiled and said you don't wanna be here all day. Logically everything went well it seemed, but my mind wanted the big "you're approved" haha

i didn't know they had someone higher up that approves? I assumed they themselves were the approvers.

Congratulations on the baby and approval! Which office did you take the interview? Have you taken the biometrics already? We are yet to receive biometrics (MSC Jun2020 filer) as the local office is Ny/Nj is my guess.

Hey!!

Thank you so much!! :) We went to the Hoover office here in Tampa, Florida. The officer lady took my picture and my fingerprints during the interview.

Did you not get any biometrics done after you filed? I thought usually they got that done after a month or two of filing. But again with everything happening it could have been delayed. Maybe you should give them a call and ask?

Thanks for the reply! I applied during pandemic peak so haven't received anything regarding biometrics yet. Called them last week and a nice lady in tier one said that it says waiting to be scheduled. She couldn't tell when, how, where but it was in line for schedule. So no idea what's happening. I'm just snooping through all forums to see if anyone got their interview/biometrics from ny/nj area 😝

Oh! That makes sense now as to why it's taking so long for them. I guess you should just sit back and relax then lol. I'm guessing your green card is probably expired?

I just noticed you're from Mumbai too lol.

So much for the "a baby doesn't mean anything, it only means you had sex!!" theory floating around VJ.

Edit: And congratulations!!

Lol, I personally think having a baby really helps! We weren't planning on having a baby or anything, it just happened and everything worked out for us lol!

But again I think it also depends on the immigration officer as well.. BUT baby is definitely a big indication of a bona fide marriage.

And thanks :)

The extension letter is until next year. The interview was in Mumbai so it says that I guess. I am not from Mumbai 😁
