I751 attorney needed?

I am coming to the end of my 2 year visa (conditional green card) and need to file the I751 do I need an attorney for this? Or would a paralegal suffice? (My residency was granted due to marriage)

The attorney who initially filed my paperwork 2 and a bit years ago has retired due to poor health.

Just wanted the consensus of those who have been through the process to whether or not an attorney is required for this part of the process. Appreciate any help, guidance and suggestions

This is a DIY site.  Most are inclined to do it themselves all the way to citizenship.

Filing the I-751 package is easy.....no need for service or attorney.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

@brunt11 I'm the immigrant and did all the paperwork myself with information from official USCIS website and VJ. It's not difficult if your case is straightforward with no red flags.

I-751/ROC is simply put a continuation of your I-485/AOS when it comes to evidence submission. Make sure to send in stuff from the time you're married till now. Do not submit only stuff from a few months preceding your filing date. USCIS wants to see proof of an ongoing marriage.

Did you have any problems during your immigration paperwork submission or interviews in the past? Any potential red flags?

Check out this VJ guide: https://www.visajourney.com/guides/removing-conditions-permanent-residency/

Here's the official I-751 page: https://www.uscis.gov/i-751

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

We will be eligible to file in November of 2021.  We plan to do it all ourselves, just like we did with the K-1 and AOS.

It is not difficult.

I have done the K1 process and the adjustment of status process all on my own - I intend on filing my i-751 myself as well, with no attorney. The above comments are good advice - the forums here on visa journey are really great at answering questions you may have, and gives you a community of people who are going through the exact same thing.

All the best!
