Hi i had my interview on 18 March 2021 the interview was smooth and the consular ask basic question but at the end he asked about the police certificate from United Kindom where i previously lived, i applied for it a month ago but it got delayed in the post, the CO asked me to post the document when i get it along with my Passport and they will process my case, the post came right after my interview and i posted it to the embassy the same day, they acknowledged the next day that they received the documents and i should wait for them to look into it, the visa status still remains refused.  how long do they normally take to process such cases? my visa type is IR1 and i am from Pakistan. sorry for the long massage and thank you so much for you time. any help would be much appreciated.

It is very possible that your case is now in administrative processing which could take a few weeks, months, or years.  Pakistani cases are frequently subjected to extended processing after the interview.  Unfortunately, you just have to wait.....

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
