Yeah, not much evidence of that and considering the Feds have very little power during an epidemic/pandemic, there is not much of a response that could have been put forth at that level, but you already knew that.

Umm, no.  Almost 14,000 epidemiologists/public health experts, and nearly 42,000 medical health professionals.  It seems they differentiate between public health experts and other medical professionals.   If you actually read it, it was written by three epidemiologists so even if you discount the public health professionals, there are at least 3 on the same level as Dr. Fauci that disagree with him on most of his recommendations.

And also persons that were completely fictitious and those with no qualifications, embellished qualifications, persons that published questionable papers, and some that might consider auras and crystals for health information and funded by a thinktank that has a vested interest in the content.

  Not much evidence of voter fraud either, but you ran with that one. What are your required criteria for evidence? 

 

  Trump specifically had an entire segment of the population not wearing masks and hostile at the entire concept during a time when it was critical to mitigating spread. He encouraged people to go about as they normally do when they shouldn't have been. He promoted bogus treatments like HCQ, UV lights and bleach. Critical to leadership is acknowledging when you don't know something and being able to defer to people who do. Trump didn't have that quality, although it's certainly to unique to Trump.

So you reviewed all nearly 50k names (I won't ask about the concerned citizens)?   Regardless are you questioning the bonafides of the three authors?

   I can read it. There are 14000 medical and public health experts, not 14000 epidemiologists. There are some in the field of epidemiology, but just looking at their biographies, I don't think any of them would be dr Fauci's counterparts.

I'd like to know what Dr. Johnny Bananas, Dr. Fakename and Dr. Fartpants has to say on epidemiology. Also the 100s of other quacks and fake entities that signed it.

The three main people? I can appreciate Gupta's concern for those that are in poverty even though she has a terrible record thus far. The other two have serious issues. It's one thing to say you are qualified and quite another to prove that you know what you're talking about by what you publish and practice. This is no different than Dr Makary from the other thread. He's on TV constantly because he's a Doctor with an opinion that fits into a desired outcome, but not actually qualified on the subject. They just stick him on TV because they think the institution of Hopkins has some weight to whatever crazy argument of the month they're making and omit the fact that his argument is not one based in reality.

  Googling many of them on the first page and nothing in their bio's indicate that they are in the field of public health or epidemiology, even though the Barrington page has them listed as such.

 

   Seems to be a lot of people with medical backgrounds with overlap in statistics, economics and management. Nothing wrong with that, I have done some biostatistics research myself years ago and also worked in infection control for a while. None of that makes me an epidemiologist.

Like I said, all hail Fauci! He must be the best, he is paid the most in the US government.  Btw, Fauci is also on TV constantly with his multiple masks, I am waiting for him to recommend strapping a pillow to one's face.

I saw people die because of people not taking it seriously and thinking it was all a hoax.

 

If you ever manage to survive COVID out of an ICU after months, left a broken shell of something that is somewhat human, I think many would say the disease is far greater.
