I'm so sorry you're going through these difficulties -- is there any sort of volunteer organization you could get involved with? Maybe getting out of the house and working a bit (even though you can't work for money) will make you feel better?

Now other posters, don't get mad at me but:

Something that might provide some comfort for you is this: It's possible to do a spousal application to go to the UK in a matter of weeks at the UK Consulate in NY. You would have to do an online application, gather the docs, pay the $1050 fee, make an appointment, and go. They normally issue the visa the same day. I'm by no means saying that you should give up and go home. No way. But you should know that going home (as long as your husband wanted to) might not be the ordeal that moving to the US has been. I'm telling you this so you can use every last bit of strength and determination you have to battle it out in Albany. Rather than feeling like your trapped, you should then try to call to mind every reason you chose to make your lives in the US rather than the UK. It might be easier to get in to that frame of mind if it feels like a choice rather than a situation you have no way out of.
