Dear members of this community, quick question. I am filing for my mother. My wife and I file Joint taxes. My mother is the only one that's migrating. My income alone is NOT sufficient to file for my mother . I need to use my wife's income  as well as a joint sponsor.

That being said and if I understand correctly, I must submit the I-864EZ alone (without my wife's income) and use form I-864 for my wife's income, is that right?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you a citizen?

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Then file online

I already did, I-130 has been approved and it's already at the NVC stage, I just paid for the fees today, but I want to make sure that (even online) I submit the right forms for me as the principal sponsor and my wife as a joint sponsor.

Had the same issue (wife did not work. So sister filed joint I-864, making it two in total - one from wife and the other from sister), though I did AOS and your parent is doing I-R5. That being said, I think you only need (2) I-864s....one for you as the primary sponsor showing that you do not make enough and the other for you wife as the joint sponsor showing she has the $$$. I do not think you need I-864EZ.

Sounds good, hopefully that'll be enough. Thank you!

You do not qualify to use Form I-864EZ since your W-2 income alone is not enough to sponsor your mother by yourself.

You file an I-864 as the petitioner/sponsor.  Your wife files an I-864a as your household member.  Your income will be combined to meet the financial requirements.
