Your green card is still perfectly valid, and you are completely legal. They would have to put you into removal proceedings, and a go to court before anything changes there.

Please update here with what happens with your case. I suspect your lawyer will recommend appealing the denial if there is nothing obviously wrong with your application.

Hey its been a while i came back to this forum and i am glad you are done with the process. That moving out of state worked for you, Great. Also you saved money by not filing Mandamus.

On the above post i am puzzled that why they denied since they had no valid reason according to the OP. filing 336 will mean more money but its worth it if it was denied wrongfully.

Thank you my friend, yes also very glad to be done with it all, and also happy to help out other people stuck in the same situation now!

I too, am very confused by this. I'd at least want to find out the exact reason for the denial, so that I could deal with it.

I had my conbo interview (I-751 & N-400) in Brooklyn on December 1st. Everything was smooth , at the end the officer told me he needs to organize my file as I had two interviews and I should be receiving update within 2-3 days. But as of today there’s no update and status remains same ‘ interview was scheduled’ . Any suggestions or information?

There's not much you can do for 4 months now, except wait and try not to worry about it too much. You'll probably hear something in the next few weeks though.

Which box did he check on the sheet of paper he gave you? (Decision cannot be made, or approved). Also, what does your online status say?

He was an extremely nice officer, he said “see ik u may be nervous but be assured that everything is fine, I just need to organize your file as you Have I -751 pending .I’ll do it later today or tomorrow and you will see approval in 2-3 days” he checked decision can’t be made and uscis will mail the notice this two boxes. The status remains ‘ interview was scheduled’. I called 800 number today. They said they can only see ‘interview initiated’ idk what that means. Is it possible that he processed the applications and mailed something but didn’t update online ? I’m saying this because he didn’t seem to be a promise breaker.

It could be out of his hands, he may have had to pass it to his supervisor to approve. Right now all you can do is wait.

when did you file your inquiry with the Ombudsman?

Hey sorry for my late reply, but I filed my inquiry with the Ombudsman 10 days ago, as of today no update on my case yet. I'm sure something MUST happen this month. It's almost a year since my interview

I have a update ; so they approved my I -751 exactly two weeks after interview but N400 still says ‘ interview was scheduled’

Very similar to my case.

I had a combo interview for I-751 and N-400 (although she didn't have the I-751 file to hand, bizarrely she asked my lawyer if he had it with him!?!).

My I-751 was approved exactly 3 weeks after the interview, before the mammoth 1.5 year wait.

Congratulations on your I-751 approval though, at least you don't need to worry about getting I-551 stamps etc.

What does your i -751 approval notice state about green card delivery ? Does it say anything about N-400? What’s the current status of the N-400? You’re right it’s a great relief that I-751 is approved. I worried a lot about the stamp. My previous stamp already expired.

I don't have the notice any more, but it didn't say anything about the N-400.

After receiving the Green Card, my case sat for the next year and a half with no movement at all until I moved states. They approved the case the day they processed my AR-11.

My I-751 approval notice says.. we have approved your i 751 , and record indicated we have also approved your n-400. You will not receive new green card, instead you will receive oath…… but n-400 status remains same

That sounds good. It sounds like everything is progressing normally then.

Don't worry about your online status, that is often not updated.
