Hi guys ..has anyone that's been waiting for decision called the 1800 number and they said your case is pending oath ceremony I asked if it was approved and she said yes it is approved and just waiting on oath..just wondering how accurate are they because my online status still says interview schedule no update since I did my interview on the 12 of October

Had my interview July 30th, online status still shows "Interwas was Scheduled" - estimate says another 3 months. I will be at my 120 days November 27.

Anyone who's gone beyond the 120 days, did you call the 1-800 number? Did they say anything useful?

Day  141 - 01/20/21 - Biometrics reuse letter

Day  233 - 04/22/21 - ROC approved, no news on N-400

Nope, I am way passed the 120 days and every time I've tried to contact USCIS through e-mail or the 1-800 number I do not get any useful information.  The only info I found useful is when I contacted my Senator and they found out that my A-file is locked at the Federal Records Center and it will be there till they resume to normal operations.  So, no other choice than wait...

That might be accurate in your case.  When I called they told me I had done my interview and that a decision had not been made it.  The webpage status still says "interview was scheduled".

Finally finished with my oath ceremony today. What a big relief. Feels like a 100 pound boulder has been lifted off my chest.

I wish everyone else who is waiting -all the very best.

This is the history of my case in San Juan, Puerto Rico:

N400 submitted on Jun 12 2021 (Biometrics reused)

Interview Scheduled for Aug 11 2021 (interview canceled because of bad weather conditions)

Interview Scheduled for Oct 19 2021 - passed eng/civis, decision to be made because I traveled 2 times (for about 40 days total) after the interview. She needs to check my physical presence. I really do not understand, it's stated nowhere that physical presence is tracked after the interview.

Still waiting for the decision, so frustrating since I have such a strong case, I believe.

Now I'll need to travel before I get my decision it seems and I don't know how it might affect me. If anybody has more information, curious to hear.

Congratulations!! Go celebrate!!

I was thinking about your case today, I calculated it took about 9 months after the interview to get approved? I am at almost 7 months now, so I still hold some hope one of these days (or months) I will hear something.

hi folks, my i751 is pending at potamac for over 15 months and i have a pending n400.

on uscis website, "Estimated Time Until Case Decision" increased by 3 months. is this accurate?

i would appreciate any help.

Unfortunately these times are not accurate at all.  Mine says "things are taking longer than expected" and it has been about a month and a half like that, not to be relied on...

Something doesn't add up here.  You said your interview was Oct 19, and you travel 40 days total after that. Today is Nov 18, it has been only 30 days.  Maybe I did not understand it well.  If you can explain it, maybe others have other suggestions.

I also thought the decision did not rely on travel occurred after the interview, but before the interview.  I do know that at the oath ceremony they ask that question again: how many days outside the country you have been.  So I would like to know how that can affect one's case as well.

I hear you, it is indeed frustrating to wait for so long...

I made a mistake in typing, I traveled after filing the application, between Jun 12 - Oct 19th. I had 923 days of presence on application, and was present more than half a time after that. I don't know if the officer has the right to reject me based on that and if I can have a case later. Also, I'm worried if I can travel while waiting on the decision from them.

Would appreciate any insight.

Hi guys,

I would like to get your opinions in what should I do next in reference to my case. I filed my case on October 15,2019, I got my fingerprints appt on November 5, 2019. Up to that point everything was moving smoothly. Pandemic hit in March 2020. I didn't have any news in reference to my case until December of 2020 when I finally get my interview notice for January 28, 2021. Things in NYC are moving extremely SLOW AND BEYOND!

During the interview I requested a "name change" when its actually just removing my first name and keeping my middle name as my first name. I passed everything but I got "the decision cannot be made yet letter" and I'm still waiting for that final decision. When I called USCIS, they literally said my case is not "that bad" AND that there are more people waiting the double of my time (crazy answer).

I proceeded to make an inquiry this past August and I received a short generic response in September saying my case is still waiting for a decision.

In October, I contacted my congresswoman about my case. The sent an inquiry on my behalf and a day before thanksgiving, the caseworker from my congresswoman's office called to tell me they received an answer saying this:
-------
"We have received a response from the USCIS regarding your pending matter. According to their files and records of your case, they issued the following response:

"The above-referenced N-400 is currently awaiting a related alien file that is needed to proceed with the adjudication of this case. Once the related file has been received, the Brooklyn Field Office will make a determination on the N-400 and will inform the applicant of the next action taken on his case."
-------
When I called back and I asked what does a "related alien file" means, she said with weird attitude that she cannot submit another inquiry because USCIS already provided them with that answer. The lady could not even explain to me what USCIS tried to say. I tried to research that on google but nothing.  At this point, I don't know what to do because I am not sure what type of documentation is USCIS waiting for.  I would like to call USCIS and try to get to tier 2 (which is really difficult) and when I finally get to tier 1, they said my case is not required for tier 2. I'm trying my best to get my case moving without considering the Wrist of Mandamus

Any suggestion at this point will be highly appreciate it.

Exactly the same answer I got from my Senator.  Apparently the A-files (which contain your whole immigration and non-immigration history) are locked at the Federal Records Center.

https://www.archives.gov/frc.  I posted some info somewhere here and on reddit.  There are lots of cases like this.

They are not fully operational, hence the delays in transferring these files to the local offices. Some officers need this file in order to make a decision.  That is why there are so many cases in here where people have been told "a decision cannot be made because I don't have your file".  Unfortunately I don't think there is much to do, other than hope they re-open those centers at full capacity again.

But I see your case is from 2019.  Have you tried to open an inquiry with ombdusman?

No, I haven't tried to open an inquiry with ombdusman yet! I was thinking doing it this week. I talked to a lawyer and he said to me that the Ombdusman is not doing much lately, but I am gonna do it anyway. and I was thinking that the delay was due to my name change, but i'm sure at this point, it has nothing to do with that.
