For friend: GC possibly erroneously approved?

My friend applied F2B AOS last year's May with PD of July 24, 2015. She was originally going to file F2A in 2016 but because USCIS elected to not use the Date of Filing chart in the last month that she stayed under 21(with CSPA considered), she ended up aging out - I think a lot of people in VJ forum also faced the very similar situations from a quick search. She got her biometric done in December, did an interview on February, which went well. The IO told her that she would not be able to be approved yet since the Final Action Date wasn't current for her PD.

On March 22nd, she read her online status that her card was being produced. She contacted her lawyer, but the lawyer was surprised because her PD wasn't current for March bulletin either (just by two days). The lawyer told her that she will put an inquiry to USCIS to ensure that this was not by an error, or it was indeed correctly issued. Has anyone faced this kind of similar situation? I feel terrible for my friend because she waited for so many years and was about to be free from all the limitations that she had from F1 status only to be held back by USCIS' possible error. And the inquiry receipt said that she not contact the USCIS until April 23rd. The card already came, but the lawyer is holding it for now. She hasn't used EAD/AP either since she is a full-time grad student.

As of April 1, 2021, your friend's PD is current.  The card may have been produced early.  The card should state that her legal permanent residency started April 1, 2021 at the earliest.  If the green card has a March date, then it was produced in error.  If it has a March date, then she should file an I-90 to return the card and request a new one with the correct date of April 1, 2021.

This happened to me. USCIS officer rang me last week to fore worn me and said it was done in error and to bring the green card to the green card interview. A strange feeling to have a green card in hand yet have a green card interview scheduled
