Good day, everyone! I'd want to ask you a question. I'd like to visit my homeland. Do you think it's okay if I travel with my extension letter because I haven't received my 10-year green card yet? Or does anyone take the chance to travel outside of the country with their extension letter?

I am travelling today, I know people who have travelled on extension.. we should be good

So any April fillers with pending I-751 filing n-400?

My understanding is that if you apply for citizenship while I-751 pending both applications are joined and sent to the local uscis office BUT the clock resets for another year basically

Am I correct that it’s better to wait for I-751 first?

How can you apply for citizenship? Don't you have to live in the US for 5 years? I am only coming up on 3 years this June. Still waiting on ROC.

If you are married to same  usc that you get the green card and you are resident 3 years, then you can apply for citezenship.

i am waiting roc too, and on april 25 i can apply for citezenship, and i will. I have all my papers ready to apply on april 25. You can apply 90 days before 3 years as resident. On july 24 i will be 3 years resident, so my 90 days are on april 25.

I already got to that in January. Can you also apply after? Or only in that 90 day before period?

Anyway, I'll wait until the conditions are removed. Hope that goes soon though. In june it will be 1 year after it should have happened.

Hi guys! Coming back to update on our case - we received interview letter today! It’s scheduled in 4 weeks in Boston.
We were assigned to VSC originally, then transferred to NBC, got biometrics done in October.

Would it not go faster? Anyway, we go on a small trip out of the country in June and I dont want to risk having an interview or biometrics right at that time (happened with the greencard interview) so I'll apply when we are back.

I am so happy I came checking on other peoples time lines or I would never have known I could already apply for citizenship. I am so ready to vote :D

If you go on a trip it is good you do when you come back, because i have seen people that they reuse fingerprints and schedule for interview one month after apply or tow after apply for citizenship, all depends which state you are, some state are faster than others.
