Hi everyone, it’s been over 2 years since we were last on this forum but here we are again. A little late but got curious tonight how others are doing. We filed our I-751 April 7, 2021 and they sent our receipt 5/4/2021. Our papers are in Potomac Service Center. Anyone else here also? Just looking at timeline for this lockbox and looks like a 19.5-21.5 month wait. How accurate do you think this is? We didn’t hear anything about biometrics…hmmm maybe we don’t need that but do they write and tell you this? Or is it too soon to know if we are waived. Thanks everyone…all in this together…ugh but at least this process is much easier then the beginning. Never want to go through that again!! Now we have each other

@TogoAfrica It seems like the current processing times from the USCIS website are pretty accurate. If you look at this thread, you will see that they are still approving petitions from September 2019. https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/731161-potomac-ysc-i-751-non-transferred-filers-only/page/19/?tab=comments#comment-10474759

Thanks! Yea figured this, not too anxious. It will happen when it happens. A friend ahead of us in this process, took 8.5 months l. There’s was at Nebraska USCIS. Sooo we can always be surprised…that would be awesome. But not holding breath.

@TogoAfrica, correct. From what I am observing on the threads, the processing times are pretty accurate for each service center. Texas keeps handing out 10 year green cards consistently within 4 to 5 months.

For right now, though, Potomac is not looking great. It is what it is.

Since they may be sending my package back, should I just wait to see what went wrong instead of sending a new one and canceling the money order? I don't mind the waiting game. Just want to make sure they have everything they need.

If you could wait I would to know exactly what went wrong. As long as they receive a perfect package by the day it expires.

But for me that isn't the way I roll I would rather send it ASAP then be stuck at the end with an error. I also have to make sure I have the ability to drive around and since my license expires with my card I couldn't wait.

As for the N/A or NONE requirement in the fields it basically states it in the instructions. The way it's stated in the instruction sheet is vague and can be interpreted multiple ways I just did it to make sure everything went through smoothly! They run the forms through a special printer/scanner thats why it has to be done right for them to accept it. And who knows what is truly right, the way they don't have an example up there makes it truly hard to understand.

Not sure about None, but NA or N/A are accepted. I personally have been leaving irrelevant boxes as blank, no issues here.

Yea, lol wish ours was in Texas

oh well, we have no control over it

at least we know they have it.

how do we know if we need to go for biometrics again? It’s been a little more then 2 months our paperwork has been with them and we have not heard anything about if we need to do biometrics again. Does any one know when we find out about that?

@TogoAfrica lol, like you said, we have no control over it. There is a good chance that Potomac may speed things up.

Biometrics - there is a good chance that USCIS may waive your biometrics and reuse the ones you provided for AOS. If that is the case, then you will get a notification/status update letting you know they waived biometrics. Otherwise, you will get a letter notifying you that you will need to provide biometrics again.

I would go ahead and create a USCIS account and add your case number to it to keep track of status updates.

Hello everyone,

My I-751 application status was updated on May 25th, 2021 to show fingerprints were taken. I believe they used AOS fingerprints. But I never received any mail for this status updates. It is just online.

Has anyone else faced the same situation? Are we supposed to receive mail or only online status update? If we are supposed to receive mail then why should I do next?

Thanks for your help

I got a hard copy too in the mail. Maybe yours is still on the way? The letter itself is useless though lol, offers no more information than what it says online. Good to have it in hand though nonetheless.

Received my NOA1 on April 25th. Still no updates for biometrics since then.

what about you guys?

I'm with LIN but in the spreadsheet, one April filer and one May filer --- both EAC --- have indicated that they received biometric update. Others either haven't received the update or didn't bother updating the spreadsheet.
