Hey All,

We sent of our 1-129F packet on the 26th of December 2020 and it was Received by the USCIS on the 28th of December 2020 (this was specified in the receipt notice), we only received the receipt notice on the 5th of march 2021 I'm assuming because they were backlogged with covid etc.

My question is, does the 5-7 month processing time for the NOA2 start from when uscis received the packet the 28th of December or when they issued the receipt the 5th of march.

Our packet was sent to the California Processing Center

Thanks

Your time starts on the 28th. Once you receive your NOA1 or if you have your receipt number it will state the date on there.

12/9/20: I-129F packet shipped via UPS

12/11/20: I-129F delivered to Dallas Lockbox (Lewisville)

12/11/20: Backdated I-129F "received date"

2/25/21: I-129F fee charged to bank account

02/28/21: Text alert with receipt # received

03/06/21: Mailed I-797C Notice of Action received

Ah yeah on the USCIS website where you can check the status it says it was received on the 28th of December so the processing will have been from then so its already been there for 3 months is that right?

It is the date printed on the NOA1, not the date you received it.  It may or may not be Dec 28.

Okay I’ve got 3 dates

2 dates on the notice:

Received date: 28th December 2020

Notice date: 5th March 2020

USCIS website case status:

case received: 28th December 2020

so would the processing start from when they got it or when then they issued the receipt

December 28 is your NOA-1. You are already 3 months into waiting!

Perhaps you may be under the impression that it will now be 2-4 months for processing. This is not a guarantee at all. We all hope for shorter times, but in reality it seems most processing times are taking longer and longer for all of us. Good luck and be patient.
