K-1 Visa SSN & Getting Married in Texas

Hello all,
Myself and my fiancee are trying to plan out wedding dates for our marriage in Texas. However, apparently Texas law states that we both need a SSN in order to get married? Obviously this would be a problem for me (UK Cit). I've looked into trying to get an SSN (and how early I can get it), and everything I see mentions needing to get married first (which doesn't make sense).
I feel like someone on here would be able to assist with this?

Well, first of all, when you get your K1 visa, you can get an SSN right after you enter the US, even before getting married. Source:

And looking at the wording here, seems the SSN is optional to get married in Texas:

You need to reread the marriage license information carefully.

YMMV

You can marry in Texas without a SSN. My county website indicated I needed a SSN, but asking in person they explained if you have a SSN, you must provide it. If you don’t, then photo ID—my passport was fine. There is a 72 hour waiting period from purchase of license before marriage can take place (or a waiver from a judge must be given). Dates and times go on the paperwork.

My schedule:

Wednesday (First morning in US)- Got marriage license at County Clerk office.

Sunday- Marriage

Monday- Returned to County Clerk with license signed by officiant. Received marriage certificate.

Wednesday- Mailed AOS/EAD/AP packet.

Thursday- Went to SSA office to apply for SSN. You do not need to be married first.

I am from the Great State of Texas

No SSN needed.

Get your marriage license and find some one to marry you: If you are short on time or money have a relative go to Universal Life Church and get apply to be an ordained minister and they can marry you.

Be aware Texas has  72 hour waiting period before you can marry in Texas, so don't wait till the last minute or you will have to fly to Las Vegas.

You don’t need a social in Texas to marry . I got my marriage license in McKinney. We did proxy and they had it optional if you don’t have one . Sang doesn’t not have one either . You just need two forms of identification. My husband was allowed to send in copies of his military identification and birth certificate . I was asked to bring original. I’m sure in person you both need original copies.
