Hi Everyone! My parents got their tourist visa sometime in october 2018 and I believe it was valid for 5 years (valid until 2023). They came to USA in April 2019 and stayed less then 6 months and went back to Pakistan. They wanted to travel again in 2020 but then covid started and they decided to wait.

At the end of 2020, the passports got burned in the housefire and they lost pretty much very thing they belong. They did file police report and got all the paper work related to housefire. They did get new Pakistani passport but they are having hard time to figure out how to get the visa reissued in their new passport. They dont want to apply as a new application for visa because they are not sure if there is a different process for reissuance of visa or they just need to apply again as a fresh applicant.

If anyone has gone through the similar circumstances then please advice whats the best course of action for them to take?

They need to apply for new visas.

If your visa has been damaged in any way, you will need to reapply for a new visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate abroad.
