Rejected, 16 days left on conditional card.

You don't need to do anything. Even if it expires, it does not matter. You could even submit it one day before and it would still count. My husband's card expired two weeks before he received his NOA1 last month. Nothing happened.

Be patient,  just because your sister's GC document is expired, she doesn't loose her resident status.

Timeline

When it happened to me, I scheduled infopass appointment in USCIS and they put a stamp on my passport. Stamp said that my GC was extended for 1 more year.

We recently received approval of my wife's I-751 even though her green card was expired. All I did is send the package with all the required documentation and a cover letter explaining the reason for the delay. We received a Letter of Action extending her status by 18 months. During that time, we will complete and send the N-400 package and wait for an appointment for Biometrics if necessary.
