I-797 NOA2 expiration date

Hello all,  I noticed that the I-797 has an expiration date of 4 months (expires July 20, 2021). What does that mean? Do I have to get my interview and visa before it expires? What if I don't get an interview date before then? Any insights are much appreciated. Thanks.

Under normal times that is the expectation.   We are not in normal times.  The consulate will extend

It can be extended at the visa interview: https://fam.state.gov/fam/09FAM/09FAM050207.html "the consular officer may revalidate the petition any number of times for additional periods of four months from the date of revalidation, provided the officer concludes that the petitioner and the beneficiary remain legally free to marry and continue to intend to marry each other within 90 days after the beneficiary's admission into the United States."
