Yeah that the position that my fiance and I are in. We decided that if we don't hear back anything by the time I visit in July, we are just going to just go ahead and get married. Luckily we are both ethnically from the same country, so its a simple process for us. But I found out that if I wasn't duo citizen I would have to get prior approval which could  take one -two month to hear back (so always check the country rules if you decide to go that route.) I looked at the processing time, and it seems that they are processing marriage visas at faster rate then K1 visas, so like @MissLadyRae anywhere from 5-12 months. Ive also seen a lot of approvals less then 5 months depending if you got lucky and was processed in the Nebraska Center.

After going through everything we really don't want to wait another year for him to be able to work, travel, and other things. And have to deal with the stress of that.

If you get lucky yes. I personally always prepare for the worst case, because its a possibility. Being lucky would be 5-8, but being unlucky, or even normal, would be 11-14.

3/5 of the service centers takes over 11.5 months

4/5 takes over 8

1/5 Takes less than 8

If they allocated cases perfectly, itd be a 1/5 chance of getting Nebraska with 5 months, but it isnt perfect and I have absolutely no idea what precengages would be realistic

So it becomes a very very subjective question of, do you feel the trade off is worth the very possible chance of waiting another 11+ months for noa2, in exchange for being unable to work for about 8?

I just get concerned when people bank off getting lucky. We all watched the k1 go to suddenly 13 months out of nowhere and that was with the processing time at the time we all applied being far less. It would be really upsetting if many people swapped banking on 5 and later regretted it because they processed at 11-14 instead.

Today I celebrate my 13 month milestone waiting for NOA2, no approval for my group 76xxx since May 12. Standing ovation to USCIS, USCIS never disappoints when it comes to “new ways to break you down.” I’ve always been trying to stay positive and put myself together through another day of waiting. But it just seems this nightmare is endless. 😭

I doubt they will be working in any or the 76XXX cases this week.  Seems to be the trend.  So I am not expecting any approval in our range.  I have no words anymore.

Well one case in 76xxx just got approved, let’s stay strong and hope for the best 🫠

That's good!  I think that's from 76000.  I'm from 76500 and there was no changes since Monday.  Thanks for the encouragement.  I really needed it especially in the past few days. ❤️

Yeah, my fiance and I are comfortable with waiting that long if needed. Having to wait the extra time for the k1 visa to get approved with how random they are processing thing is honestly a bigger gamble at this point. Also waiting for work approval, and ability to travel (which is also taking longer than 8 months) and not knowing when that will happen after waiting almost two years to get here is a lot.

My fiance and I did not want to do the K1 visa at first because we just saw it as the lesser option. The only reason why we went this route was because of border closure and to do something in the meantime while we wait. But now that borders are open, we just rather wait the additional months that it would take to just be done with the process. And I've been keeping track of green card processing since we are highly considering it. Its not just a few people, a lot of the centers are processing cases past July 2021 last year. So if we were able to do the marriage vis back then, we could have theoretically been done by now with him here and able to work. I also talked to a UCSIS representative and they say they do things based on jurisdiction and allocate cases from other center if the processing time gets long. My jurisdiction is Nebraska so the case will most likely be sent there since it is within our jurisdiction, and also because processing time are higher in other centers.

Anyways, its a risk we are willing to take and if it ends up taking the full 12 months, at least he will be able to work and travel and we can pretty much go about life without additional restrictions

Well, today we hit 400 days since NOA1. My fiancé just went home following a visit, and I was sure we’d get NOA2 while he was here.

I contacted my congressman about the ridiculous wait times, but I haven’t heard back from them either.

Absolutely disheartening.

I hope so. I noticed not much updates come in after 2pm PST so about 2 hours left. But the huge amount of approvals versus RFEs are great to see.

APPROVED TODAY!!!!! NOA1 April 21, NOA2 May 19, got the notification via casetracker app close to 9am. 77000 group, no RFE. It took me over 390 days (I think 393 to be exact) but I'm thankful it didn't take me 400+ days like some of us. Though I am overjoyed for myself I know how hard it is to read of another approval and it not be yours, but have faith, it will come!!!!!!! Thank you Jesus!!!!!!!!! I am soooooo happy right now! Updating my timeline now.

A big shoutout to this group, without it I wouldn't even be able to stay sane this whole time!!! Thank you to the users who take the time every single day to write out the daily updates!!!!!!!!

Same here!

And yes! This group has been amazing to help me stay sane. Best of luck with everyone and I look forward to seeing y'all in MAY 2022 K1 NOA2 to NVC to EMBASSY!!!

For me I am just thinking that spousal visa would take about 8-10 months but also at the end of it my partner would get the green card and can work and travel immediately. For someone who just started the fiance k1 visa process might worth a think cause the wait for fiancé visa might just be the same. However, cases like me and my partner who have been waiting for over 13 months now and the goal considering is to get partner to the states ASAP and don’t mind waiting another 8-12 months for work authorization and being able to travel etc then switching to spousal visa could be a big risk to take. But on the other hand if someone would rather work and able to travel sooner switching to spousal visa might not be a bad idea as the waiting time might even be shorter than waiting for fiancé visa approval (which is getting longer and longer) and then waiting another year for work authorization etc.

Same I’m in the same boat and absolutely disheartening to see the later groups 77000+ getting so many approvals. I’m happy for anyone to get a response but is absolutely making me feel the worst that my group has no activity this whole week… seems like the wait is going to be even longer. I’m in absolute despair. 😔

Yeah I agree with all of this entirely. We wanted to do cr1 as even back when I applied I felt it was superior (thanks travelbans)

but now, it feels like itd be a choice between spending that x amount of time itd take to process the cr1 apart, vs actually being together during that time but having to wait for EAD and all that. Id hate to lose all the months waiting, itd feel like they were for nothing. Hopefully it works out well, for all of us❤️

I'm in the same boat but for group 735xx. At least my group has a handful of updates every day but still lots left to be processed. Definitely been a nightmare. I have been hopeful for the last 3 weeks and have been discouraged each end of the week.
