I know. I am in such denial though!

I am too, but I'm trying not to be and to prepare for the worst because the constant disappointment has been soulcrushing. Trying to expect that I wont close the distance until 2023,due to all the delays

But it's so hard to believe that it wont be soon!

They are only looking at processing of March cases.

Actual processing rate is higher than what they are seeing, and it is around 90-110 per day.

Thus April will probably start processing in second-third week of March

Large part of processing will probably happened in April.

Do you mean they already started working on April? Or on other months too?

They started working on March files on November-December 2021, so technically, it it almost took three months and some weeks, and still they're not finished with March 🥺

True, but that is due to fact that processing rate fell of cliff to 60 cases per day.

Check my post in May group, where you can see the processing for each month since June 2021.

In last two months processing has started picking up again

USCIS does the majority of processing in order, however there are ALWAYS some outliers such as April petitions. There was one bulk of April dates that were processed from July 2021 and they continue to process them in small numbers. May has approvals only about less than 40.  Even saw in a FB group that a November 2021 filer got approved and this was not an expedite.

OMG! That's crazy, some people wait forever and some get it way sooner that expected. That's so disappointing 😞

Posted this is in the March group:

March is the only month with no federal holidays and almost 5 working weeks, so it should be a pretty positive month. Hopefully we'll get through all of March and half of April by then (a girl can only hope)

Yeah I'm getting so frustrated. Question - if my fiance loses his job can we get an expedite? What kind of documents do they need when you file for that, if yes? We're in a weird situation where we live in one city but his job is in another and they were virtual this whole time due to the pandemic but they're forcing them to return to the office, so we would have to move to the other city by May 1st if our documents don't get any closer in processing.

I had sent in a request for status at the beginning of January and my response said that my case "is being adjudicated" which now I'm thinking was a blatant lie. That was literally 2 months ago at this point, we received that response in the first week of January. So I just am extremely frustrated with this whole thing. I don't have any trust in them. I really never thought that I could get THIS disappointed in our government but I am, ten times over. Just the sheer hate for how unproductive, disorganized, and completely f**king incompetent they are is taking me over sometimes. More so towards the management of the whole thing, not the specific officers.

Job loss is not reason fro expedite request.

On USCIS page there is list of criteria regarding expedite, bit it also states, that the decision who gets the expedite is only dependent on USCIS, basically as everything in USCIS there is 0 accountability and it is their decision alone.

According to USCIS…..

”Job loss may be sufficient to establish severe financial loss for a person, depending on the individual circumstances. For example, the inability to travel for work that would result in job loss might warrant expedited treatment. The need to obtain employment authorization, standing alone, without evidence of other compelling factors, does not warrant expedited treatment.

In addition, severe financial loss may also be established where failure to expedite would result in a loss of critical public benefits or services.”

However, as @DSBeijing stated, their wish to grant a expedited request is at their sole discretion.

This is not relevant for K1 sadly, since beneficiary is not able to work when he arrives to USA since he/she doesnt have EAD when he arrives to USA and has to wait. And sponsor needs to have enough income or wealth to support beneficiary when he/she arrives to USA so the beneficiary doesn't become public charge.

If the beneficiary loses job in home country, this is not problem of USCIS. If sponsor loses the job, this might be a problem application, if beneficiary doesnt have enough income to support beneficiary when he/she arrives.

Expedite request do not only exist for K1 but for also EADs and H1B1, so for them there is a real possibility of loosing job due to slowness of USCIS, thus this is mostly relevant for them.

There was a topic with similar question on this forum, there are more detaild answer.
