Was this the only info you received after your NOA2? I’ve been reading that people haven’t been able to get their NVC numbers anymore because they won’t answer the phone, so I’m wondering if this is really the case?

Also, how long after the NOA2 did you receive this email? I think this depends on the backlog at the embassy but just wondering anyway.

Yes, I received no other information between this and the NOA2.  The NVC doesn't answer the phone.  It took 45 days.  I'm not sure if it's related to the specific embassy.

I think the NVC does background checks and pre-processes information for the consulate, so not sure that the embassy backlog influences the time for this step.  Probably the results of the background check and based on the applicant, how much research they have to do on each applicant influences the time.

Yes, this was the only contact from NVC after NOA2. Our case was approved on March 28th and NVC's email notifying us it's been sent to embassy/consulate was May 10th. Then a week later, received instruction package from Korean embassy but I believe each location does things differently at this point.

Yeah...I've heard about NVC suspending their public inquiry lines due to backlog...I'm sorry...don't lose hope!! If you received your NOA2, give a good 2/2.5 months for NVC email. You're almost there!!

Thank you both this is very helpful! I didn’t realize they do background checks at the NVC stage, so that’s good to know.

I’m still waiting for my NOA2! I am a June filer so hopefully we’re coming up soon. I’m just planning ahead to make sure I’m not confused once the NOA2 does finally come. I’m trying to stay hopefully 🙏🏽

Good luck to you both in the rest of the process!

WEEKLY CHART UPDATE 06/20:

Approval changes last week: +138

RFE changes last week: -3 (Negative numbers mean RFE totals going down AKA more worked on than issued during the week)

TOTAL NEW CHANGES (approval or RFE) : 135 (please note an RFE to approved or denied is not a "new" change since the case was already "touched")

380+ Untouched aka "no movement"

2800+ Who have heard back (either approval or RFE)

WEEKLY CHART UPDATE 06/26:

Approval changes last week: +63

RFE changes last week: -27 (Negative numbers mean RFE totals going down AKA more worked on than issued during the week)

TOTAL NEW CHANGES (approval or RFE) : 36 (please note an RFE to approved or denied is not a "new" change since the case was already "touched")

330+ Untouched aka "no movement"

2900+ Who have heard back (either approval or RFE)

Inquiry date is currently April 4th, 2021. Beginning of the month coming up and they just updated the historical times, so it is about the time they change the inquiry date. I know I'll be waiting anxiously for the next few weeks to see if we hear something (hopefully) or if we make it to our inquiry day this time.

Note: 546 RFEs sent, 240 RFEs turned in and waiting, 336 untouched, so still over 1000 of us "in process"

The wait is driving me bananas! But thank you for the info, I know we are close (NOA2 6.May.2022). Checking my spam folder multiple times a day.

Waiting on NOA2 after RFE Received 18 days ago. I've seen these RFEs get approved in 8 days and as long as 2 months. This is so damn frustrating.

If it makes you feel any better, we sent our RFE response on 5/11/22...47 days later and still nothing...

Also, small world, my fiancé is from Estonia as well!

That makes me feel MUCH worse, lol. 😣
Yay Eesti! Beautiful place, I just got back from there about 3 weeks ago and should be heading back maybe 4 weeks from now.

I'm sorry...😑

Even smaller world, I was also there for 3 months and just got back the middle of May!  I plan on going back as well once we get approved at USCIS!  I think we started this process at the WORST time possible.  To think, if only we had submitted two months earlier we'd probably be done with this process.  Instead we're heading into month 15...I've never seen such an inept group when it comes to inventory management.  I work in that same type of field and it just drives me crazy how poorly they manage/work their inventory.  Every day is like Groundhog's Day refreshing the app and watching updates.  Very defeating.

I agree. I am at 433 days with absolutely no news at all. And worse, my fiance's country is in the middle of violent protests and roads are blocked (and have been for 2 weeks) so I just had to reschedule my trip to see him this Wednesday to the end of August due to flight expenses and available days for time off. I've been so broken by this. I feel like the shell of the person I used to be. He isn't here yet, almost 15 months later, and now I can't even go to visit him and the place I called home for 10 years. The hits just keep on coming.

My fiance is also in Ecuador. I am 441 days waiting with nothing to show for it. I'm sorry that you had to reschedule due to the ongoing protests. I am planning on also visiting my fiance in August and I pray to God that we (and all others) get our approvals well before then. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Going 435 days finally heard back but is not the greatest news… we got RFE🥴 but at least we know that USCIS has looked over our case and is not just endless waiting. Trust me it will come to you just a matter of time and whether you persevere and keep waiting. I know is painful to be separated from fiance or fiancée for such a long time, but don’t let time go wasted! Keep waiting and keep holding onto faith. Now… on we go waiting for another 1/2 months for response from RFE🥴

if anyone know how long on average they respond to RFE let me know. So we can brace ourselves for more waiting.

My fiancé is also in Ecuador. I hear things are pretty bad for everyone. Food and gas shortages nationwide. No way to cook or get food. Do you think this crisis could potentially qualify for an expedite request?
