Hello! I have taken my 2 years gc through marriage in 2016 February, got my 10 years gc in 2019 March. I think I can apply now for 5 years rule? Didnt wanna apply on 3 years rule because my wife told me to wait for 2 more years so we don't have to collect evidence. Also I read the required paperwork but non of them made sense to me. Is there a dumbed down list? Thank you

2021 - 2016 = 5. You could have applied in November 2020 because of 90 days rule.

You need

* dates of travel outside the usa

* your selective service status letter

* Passport photos

* your green card

* arrest and conviction records

See https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/guides/M-477.pdf for a list of other things that might apply.

Thank you for your reply! Due to work load I've never traveled outside of US. Also it says proof of living in the same address. How do I prove that? An do I send current gc copy only or both of them?

I looked for the word address in the link I shared and came up empty.

No.

Quote

All applicants must send the following 3 items with their N-400 application:

1.  A photocopy of both sides of your Permanent Resident Card (formerly known as the Alien Registration Card or “Green Card”).

About the part where it asks that if I've ever been part of an association and organization. Between 2013 and 2014 I was in an association of charity. We would help kids with their educational needs. Like giving them supplies they needed. Also the association is also known as human rights in my country. Is that a negative thing for me? Also at work I'm union member, will these 2 effect me negatively? Thanks

Three aren’t negative things.  You need to disclose them.

ih my case I disclosed my membership in a political party in Canada, and membership in a electronic  rights advocacy group in the USA. Maybe a passing mention in my interview.

Indiht know if the point of the question is to provide evidence of participation in American society  or evidence of binging a danger to American society or what.  But you need to disclose.

Utility bills

Drivers license if it shows address (in my state it does)

Thanks for the answer. Did the political party had social democracy, civil rights ideology? Because this association had some signs about the Civil rights. Not political though

All major (those with seats in Parliament)  political parties in Canada have democracy and civil rights in their platform.

I was also a member of a civil rights association in the USA.

Provided the associations are lawful, they aren't negative things.
