Well good for you.  But it is very different from carrying your own child and then giving birth. 

At any rate, I strongly encourage you to never take her to the WH for a visit.

Oh, okay. So adoptive parents don't count as "real" parents? Got it. Also, where are fathers in that? They can't carry a child or give birth. Are they out of the equation? I should tell my husband he should step away from parenting then, not a real parent.

 

Have you ever carried a child, to term or otherwise? I had a miscarriage in the second trimester not too long ago, well, it feels like not too long ago to me. I will never stop thinking about that child. I sincerely hope you've never had to go through that heartbreak and the physical trauma of still being full of pregnancy hormones with no child growing inside you. So yeah, I know what it feels like to be an expectant mother. If I could have stopped my loss, I would have. I would have been a "real" mother now.

 

I say "my stepdaughter" because I wanted to make it clear that I wasn't her birth parent in this context. But we don't use "stepmum" for me or "stepdad" for his ex's husband-to-be. I am Layla and he is Tom, and there's also Mummy and Daddy. She is loved by four adults as their daughter. I wish all children could know as much love as this little girl does. It helps that the four of us have a friendship and put our differences to one side to prioritize her over everything else.

I have the same relationship with my wife's daughter.  In fact she and my two children are all within 2.5 years of each other and get along very well.  I'm grandpa G... to my wife's grandchildren.

I think if anything we are starting to enter the age where I am "better" than Mummy because she doesn't need to live with me!  We're hoping that next summer she'll be able to come out here and spend a month with us in America. The four of us parents have also agreed that once my husband gets his citizenship, we want her to get hers too through him so she can have a wealth of opportunities as an adult. 

 

You're lucky to have a similar relationship -- I can't imagine life without her now.

I would think that this is a lie... I am saying this because a friend I served with  just took a job with his office as the veteran coordinator. I know my buddy... If he didn't think Matt is ok then he wouldn't have took the job

What would the democrat party and their supporters be, if not a bunch of smear campaigns against people they cannot control?
