My wife pass her interview in Feb and we are still waiting for the sanction to be left all we can do is wait there is no timeframe at the moment I have reached out to the embassy, join zoom call in a town hall meeting with the ambassador In Laos and he said until Laos make an effort to accept any deportee from the u.s.a which Laos says after they have left Laos for 7 year with no Laos visa they are no longer Laos citizen then will usa left the sanction.

I was thinking we probably have to get in touch with someone in the US (senators and etc) to see if they can bring it up to the President about the Section 243d.  Maybe with enough people asking about it he will look at it, maybe change it or eliminate it.  My husband and I will do the NVC paperwork this coming July and I guess we will find out if this section 243d with affect my mil also.

I'm in the same boat as many of you. My wife pass her interview in Feb and was refused a visa.

In Minnesota, there is a lawyer who this doing this for the number of cases they have pending visa approval in Laos.  Last I heard from that law firm, the United States senators from Minnesota has not received any responds back from the Biden administration.

I don't think there's anyway out of this sanction until the Lao government step up...this is is a low priority for the COMMUNIST Lao government and low for the US Government. Lao and Hmong people in Laos are unlikely to rise up and protest...so our families will continue to live in limbo... https://cis.org/Cadman/Beyond-Recalcitrant-Laos-Incurs-Second-Round-Visa-Sanctions. Those of us here in the US will have to write to our local, state, and federal representatives to try and ask the US Government to lift this sanction. Laos is too poor, too small, too insignificant to pose any threat to the US or our interests.
