Advance Parole Not Yet Received After 8 Months

Hi

 

We applied for I-131 (application for travel document, advanced parole) for my wife as part of her adjustment of status application. We filed the forms on July 15, 2020. After receiving NOA with receipt date July 20, 2020, there was no update on our case. I tried to call USCIS several times but I was not allowed to talk to a live person. When I check my status online, I still see "Case Received" status.

 

1. The priority date on USCIS website is October 26, 2020, which is more than 2 months of our appliction receipt date. I tried to fill out an online "case inquiry" form but when I click to submit the form, I keep getting "an error has occurred" technical message. 

 

2. Do we have to have a biometrics taken for advanced parole application? As I said, we did not get any update after submitting our application. I am hoping that biometics is not necessary for her application.

No biometrics needed for AP

 

 

 

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

If you sent an EAD application, they are probably holding the AP until they can approve both at same time. 

 

She needs biometrics for EAD, so technically until she has biometrics done, she won't get AP.
