B2 visa for family members, while K1 of sister is under processing #covidtimes

Has anyone expedited visitor visa for USA during covid times. I am K1 visa beneficiary and my brother and sister-in-law had applied for B2 visa for US last year 2020. Every since then their interview keeps on getting canceled each time its due. Now the only available interview dates are in 2022 only. With things moving for K1 visa I am hoping to get approved around summer this year(NOA2 Oct 2020) and want my family to come to US for the marriage whenever it happens. Has anyone expedited visitor visa for family members in similar situation and if you can share experience and how long it takes.

Highly unlikely for it to happen.

Right, from what I see the reasons to expedite this might not be something they will accept. But I will still give it a try, they are my only family that would be attending the marriage from my side. There is only one chance to expedite that can be made. I am thinking to wait until I  get my application at Montreal Consulate from NVC and based on that request expedite or maybe even after the K1 visa is issued.

In general, how much time does it take to process expedite request for B2 visa for US ?

It depends on the embassy and if they are currently processing B2 visas or not.  It could take a few days to a few months.  Each applicant for the B2 would submit a request directly to the embassy for the expedite.  You cannot try to expedite it for them.

Unfortunately, the Toronto embassy is only processing Emergency appointments currently. Yes I am asking on behalf of my brother and sister in-law, they would be submitting the expedite request eventually.

Also, from one of your previous posts, your family already had B2 visas.  Did all those visas expire?

My parents have a valid B2 visas already. But issue is getting B2 for my brother and sister in-law, its been over a year but they could not have there interview yet due to the current situation and reduced processing.

They can request an expedite, but nothing is certain.

You can also delay your entry to the US, and your wedding, for as long as possible (this will give them close to 9 extra months to try to get their visa).

They won't expedite for a wedding.  Why should they?  Why is that "reason" any more important than anyone else who has been patiently waiting, likely to be able to attend their own family events?

I am not questioning what reasons should be more important than other ones. I am just trying to get responses and experience from fellow members. We have patiently waited ourselves for more than a year now.

Generally for an embassy to expedite a B visa, would be the same reasons they would grant an emergency appointment.

You have close to nine months on your side + time until your interview.  How long until your family gets their Canadian citizenship?  Could you delay your interview until they're closer to it? If you really want them to be there, you have more tools on your side than to depends on the unsure expedite.
