AOS Interview - When to Bring Tax Returns

I have a question about when it's necessary to bring tax returns to the AOS.

 

My wife and I filed for her Adjustment of Status in July 2020. When we filed, we provided all relevant tax returns and info for the I-864, including those of our joint sponsor.

 

We have our Adjustment of Status Interview scheduled for April 27, 2021. Recently, the IRS changed this year's tax filing deadline to May 17, 2021.

 

I don't expect to have the tax returns from myself and from my joint sponsor to both be ready before April 27, 2021. As such, I'm not planning on bringing the 2020 returns, since it would be before the deadline anyway.

 

Is this ok? Would USCIS be expecting us to bring these new tax returns even though the interview is before the updated tax filing deadline?

If you or your joint sponsor have not filed 2020 taxes, then you cannot bring them, and with the deadline change, I would expect no issues.

I just brought two recent pay stubs as evidence of continued employment for my AOS interview last week. If you want to be more thorough you could also bring a copy of your 2020 W-2 with you.
