Thanks for the information and tips. Mailing off my husband's I-751 today and worried about getting his extension letter.  His mom is having surgery in Tunisia in June and he wants to be there with her.  Hoping everyone gets their extension letters and approval notices soon!

Quick tip... use UPS instead of USPS and preferably next day air. My package took two weeks to get from PA to AZ and I was concerned that it had gotten lost.

We're in the exact same situation, so you're not alone.

We didn't trust USPS due to issues lately so overnighted it, it was confirmed there on 3/15, and no receipt yet (paper or online) either.

Thanks... I guess I am a little confused.... If my green card expires and my status does not...does that mean I can continue to work, travel, etc like if I had a valid green card?

Doesn't matter that your greencard expires, it's your status that matters. You will still be a lawful permanent resident even if your conditional greenxard expires while you wait for the receipt for your i-751.

You will however need proof of your status in some situations, such as international travel and if you plan on changing jobs. USCIS is unlikely going to give you a stamp in your passport as proof of your status since you have an extension letter coming, even if it may take a few extra weeks. It would have to be a life or death emergency is my guess.

If you don't have an emergency travel abroad or need proof of your status to get a new job, you don't need to do anything. Just keep working.
