I-751 no receipt number and no updates

I mailed my I-751 package on 02/27/2021 through USPS. Package arrived in Phoenix on 03/16/2021. Today is 03/29/2021 (over a month since mailing it) and I have not received any notifications and a receipt number from USCIS - neither though mail or digital (I sent form G-1145 along with I-751).

I tried to create an e-ticket but USCIS requires me to have a receipt number, which I do not have. I tried to call USCIS customer service number multiple times but was not able to get a hold of anybody or get any information that would help.

Do I need to make an appointment to go to a USCIS office? If yes, how do I do it?  If I do not get anything from the USCIS in a couple of weeks, I plan to personally go to their Philadelphia office to get advice as my green card will expire on 05/14/2021.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks!

Currently taking 2-3 months to get receipts from USCIS. Sit tight.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Nothing. Just chill and wait to hear back from USCIS. Your status does not expire. Your GC is the one that expires

Thanks. Any suggestions on what should I do if it gets to close to my green card expiration date of 05/14?

No need to do anything.

Thanks... I guess I am a little confused.... If my green card expires and my status does not...does that mean I can continue to work, travel, etc like if I had a valid green card?

Yes.  When traveling out of the country, you WILL need the original extension letter (and expired green card) to re-enter.

Awesome. Last question... how do I get the extension letter? Does it come with USCIS I-751 receipt notice? If yes, I guess I have to wat for the notice to travel abroad, right?

The extension is the receipt notice. It will extend the date on your card for 18 months. Yes, the original extension letter must be presented along with the expired card to re-enter the US (and to board a return flight).

I agree with all the other responses, but in the event of international travel, you will need to get a temporary I-551 stamp if you have not yet received your extension letter and your GC has or will expire while you are outside the US.  If you have planned travel, you can request an Infopass appointment at your local office to get the stamp.  If you do wait for the extension letter before traveling, then you are fine with that and the expired GC, but make a few copies of the letter, you have to present the original to CBP, but sometimes you run into airline employees not familiar with it and ask to keep it, you can let them have a copy if necessary.

Good Luck!

Hi,

Looking at the February 2021 filers thread will likely give you a little comfort in terms of timing.  :) There's a really nice spreadsheet in there with all of our filing dates, cashing of checks, receipt of notices, etc.

Currently, it is taking about 5 - 6 weeks from receipt of the I-751 package to receive your NOA.  Assuming the timeline holds steady, you should be expecting to receive you NOA sometime around 4/23 or 4/30.

Thanks for the information and tips. Mailing off my husband's I-751 today and worried about getting his extension letter.  His mom is having surgery in Tunisia in June and he wants to be there with her.  Hoping everyone gets their extension letters and approval notices soon!
