Hi Everyone,

We are a married couple since past 2 years. My husband is a permanent resident US and I live in India. We applied for under Family preference F2A (F-21 visa class, to be very specific). I got DQ on Sept.1'20 and since then been waiting for an interview. Got a mail from NVC on 8th March regarding 120 days delay or whatever.

Just wanted to know if anyone has gotten an interview from F2A category (spouse of permanent resident) since the mail or proclamation rescinded ?? I just wanted to get some clue regarding my work here as the wait and confusion is so very frustrating.

please help.

Although the ban has been rescinded, the combination of first the Covid shutdowns in mid March and then the ban means that there has been a big backlog built up. Some people who had been originally scheduled and cancelled for March 2020 are still waiting for reschedule, not all embassies have reopened for F2 either. So it is partly embassy dependent but you can pretty much bank on the fact that there are around 6 months worth of DQ cases in front of you in line to be scheduled, even if the embassy concerned has restarted interviews. Whether or not they take shorter or longer than 6 months in real time to get through that depends on their capacity etc.

No we applied F2a on October 20 2020 and since then no news. Visa bulletin says the visa is supposed to be current but there is just no one to ask. Do you have any info on that?

Your i130 first has to be processed, then approved and sent to NVC, then you submit documents, and only once the case is documentarily qualified (DQ) will you be in line for an interview.

This has all the steps, you are only at step 1... some go fast and others, not so fast.

Hey OP,

You can join the telegram group and find out more about Mumbai is processing. Right now CR1's are on Oct 2020. F2's haven't been started yet, but the consulate said they will be starting with Spring DQ when the time comes. You can join the group below. Hope this helps!
