Only news from Philippines has been bad news lately

True. Very disappointing. One year later and we're back to where we started (worse even).

Bad news for Subic where I live.  The article says it will be at the Manila Times College campus.  Two of my daughters attend MTC, online, but the new campus is right next door to a condo complex where friends live.  This might be the old campus complex up in Cubi.

The government is set to open a new 500-bed mega quarantine facility in Subic next week to accommodate more Covid-19 patients.

In an online press briefing on Tuesday, National Task Force (NTF) against Covid-19 Deputy Chief Implementer and testing czar Vivencio “Vince” Dizon said the facility will be built on the premises of the Manila Times College.

“We will try to open it by the end of March or before Holy Week,” Dizon said.

Another example.  Supposedly this is from IATF but I could not find it in the IATF resolutions.  Formerly, people younger than 16 and older than 65 could exercise outdoors and go to beaches.  Effective last week, at least here in Subic, children under 3 are not allowed at beaches, resorts and pools.  They can still be out for exercise.

What logic did they use to come up with "under 3 poses a risk to themselves or others at beaches", after all this time?

Tell that to the woman in Michigan who was arrested and put in jail for opening her restaurant.   Talk about stupidity, civil rights violations and about 3rd world mentality

IKR! Our government is so far behind now. We've been stuck in the assumption that kids are potential super spreaders. But research has already proven it's not the case. Quarantining is useless if we won't combine it with vaccines. Unfortunately, the Philippine government is very passive. We need to be more aggressive in beating the root cause.

If this were to happen in the Philippines, the entire Luzon may have to be converted into a big prison. 😅
