My i-485 has updated today to "ready to be scheduled for interview".  I presume that's the national centre saying that paperwork is good and now it's a waiting game for availability to come up at my local centre (Albany, NY)?  I'd love to hear from others who have had their interview scheduled to know how long they waited.  AND if they got their EAD / AP in the mean time (I'm excited by this update but would love to be able to work).

Also, my husband has a new job and we're set to move in a month's time.... if we register a change of address (different state), will that delay things?  is it legal to not inform USCIS?  Potentially, we could travel to our current local office.

Thanks!

You are required to inform them.  They will not interview someone who has moved out of the jurisdiction of the field office originally assigned to the case.

"Ready to be scheduled" is not the same as "has been scheduled."  I think our "ready" message was there for about a year before we received an interview appointment.
