Joe Biden Immediately Gives His Handlers Nightmares After Appearing Confused at Times During First Presser

By Sister Toldjah | Mar 25, 2021 2:45 PM ET

[...] what I wanted to write about was how he looked appearance-wise during the White House event that he and his handlers oddly spent several days preparing for, including holding a "mock" press conference as well as preparing a three-ring binder he could reference.  [...]

Everything you see Biden do is prepared, staged and presented to the gullible, which accounts for the majority of Biden's base...

As for the media, Biden's handlers may as well give CNN and MSNBC their own office space in the White House, when Biden runs out of Depends, they can send Joe Acosta to the store.

I watched the whole thing. Biden was Biden -- occasionally getting worked up about something, but staying pretty calm. He had facts to hand -- quite a few of them -- about what is going on at the border. He caught himself a few times when he sensed he was going on too long about one point or another. He doesn't have the professorial polish of Obama, but neither did Trump. It was a solid performance, but I wish instead of asking questions about whether he's going to run in 2024 or what he'd do running against Trump again they would have asked him about the COVID response and vaccinations. I couldn't believe this was completely ignored by the press.

He didn't appear confused to me at all, or tired for that matter. He stayed on topic far more often than not, which is more than can be said for the previous guy. Biden was often forceful in his responses. This was not a meandering, freeform presser, but I am 100% not surprised that an outlet like Redstate is calling this a disaster. That's one opinion. I have my own, which is worth about as much as anyone else's.

I thought they prepared him pretty well, tame 'journalists', pre approved questions, he had his cheat sheet, and bearing in mind his issues he did pretty well.

What I would have loved to see was Kamala's reaction to 4 more years.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

He is 78 and acting his age. He's already the oldest president in history. That doesn't mean he's lost it, but it does make it harder to find sometimes. Reagan was looking the same at 77. Like Reagan, Biden will lean more on those he has trusted to surround himself with. I hate to say it, but Trump was having the same issues at age 70, and didn't seem to listen to anyone around him. A big part of the issues he had, and why it's going to end up worse if Trump does run again.

Even at my age, while I sometimes feel I might be getting wiser, I'm certainly not likely to get any sharper. That's just life. I'd be happy to make it to 78 in the shape Joe is in, because a lot of people won't. If we can't accept that, the alternative is to vote for someone younger. As we just saw with Trump though, that is no guarantee of success either.

I agree. He's 78, and there is no taking away from that. On the other hand, there have been a number of Republican senators who have recently said that in their meetings with him he has come off as very on the ball. My grandmother is a decade older than he is (late 80s) and she is very sharp. But her age shows sometimes, mostly in repeating stories we've all heard a million times or reaching for a word and getting frustrated she can't remember it.

I think -- and no offense to the boomers on here -- that the boomers just won't let go of power, and that's part of what is happening in both major parties right now. Everyone at the top is a boomer. Think of it: Biden, Harris (just -- 1964), McConnell, Schumer, Pelosi. Kevin McCarthy is one month over into Gen X -- but I wouldn't say he's the kind of guy who was in mosh pits and slinging espressos in the early 90s, just saying. But these people need to make way for my generation and Gen X.

My dad is 78 and everyone says "sharp as a tack". While I do think he is, I also acknowledge he's not quite as sharp as I remember him, and it's best to catch him before 7PM if you really need something important. He slows down after that. He's as smart as he ever was, everything is still in there, but he has to think about things and it doesn't always come right away. He substitutes experience at times, and he writes things down instead of memorizing everything. Like I said though, we should all hope to be that way in our late 70's.

I won't get too into the boomer thing, 'cause there's a lot of generalization with inter generational concepts anyway. Some of the kindest people I've met are baby boomers, and a lot of generation X are ultra type A. I've heard said the ultra competitive tendency comes from having so many people in competition for everything all your life. Kind of like how baby sharks eat their siblings in the womb, I guess. Until there's just one left. I guess it's hard to ease up if that's how you have always been.

Yeah, I didn't mean that as a slur against boomers at all. (Plus two of my favorite people in the world are boomers.) I guess it just seems remarkable that there are people who have been at the highest echelons of political power for nearly 50 years, like Biden. It's like -- come on, give other people a chance. There is SUCH a wealth of talent in people in their 30s and 40s, people who have had a decade or more in careers or in politics at the state level.

The type A/type B/etc. thing is in every generation. I'm definitely a Type A, but many of my friends aren't. And there's so much overlap -- my dad seems like a Type B, for example, when you first meet him but he's a shark when he needs to be.

Hmm, it's Friday, maybe it's time for a quiz in the derailment thread. We haven't done one of those in a while.

I know. That's not you at all to do that. Actually I think I did that with the shark example. :)

I get what you were saying though. There are definitely general tendencies they associate with being more prevalent in each generation and I think the competitiveness/stubbornness is obviously more common in the BB generation. Just happens that many of the long term politicians are baby boomers, and many of them tend to have those characteristics.

Hard to say. Us Gen-Xer's will probably continue to screw everything up for a while. They say we don't really care. :D I have more hope for you younger generations. You at least seem to be better at working together and listening to different opinions.

We know this and no one is trying to make fun of him but we are simply saying that you can clearly see that his suffering some sort of cognitive decline which is not uncommon for his age.
