Hello,

My wife received her green card on the mail, didn't even have to go for an interview! The problem now is that she wants to go back to the Dominican Republic but her password has her maiden name and the green card has her married name and we don't know if she's going to have problems getting in and out of the country. Also, what do we need to do about her Social Security card? the one she has now says it's only for employment on it, do we need to apply for a new one?

Thanks!

Go to your local SSA office with her green card to have the conditions lifted from her SSN card (a new one will be sent to her). One should always report any change in immigrant status to the SSA. For travelling, she can bring along her marriage certificate to prove her name change if she encounters any problems. Otherwise, have her passport changed into her married name as soon as possible after your trip (assuming the trip is going to be soon).

I suggest you contact the Dominican consulate in NY about updating her passport.
