Ok, my husband was approved the other day for his 10-year green card. Today, we receive this email...

What the heck?? We went the I-130 route 3 years ago! Has anyone else received funky emails from USCIS??

March 26, 2004 - Melissa files I-130 with Vermont.

April 10, 2004 - Mailed in I-129F to Chicago for K-3.

April 19, 2004 - NOA1 received from Missouri

July 13, 2004 - I-130 NOA2 Approval from Vermont

July 22, 2004 - NVC Receives Case & Assigns

July 25, 2004 - NVC Sends Affidavit of Support Fee Bill & DS 3032

July 30, 2004 - Melissa receives and pays Affidavit of Support Fee Bill and scans and emails DS 3032 to Mike for signature.

August 9, 2004 - NVC prints Visa Fee Bill (isn't that redundant??)

August 20, 2004 Melissa Receives and pays Visa Fee Bill

August 21, 2004 Melissa Receives Affidavit of Support Packet

August 30, 2004 Melissa Sends Affidavit of Support to NVC

September 7, 2004 Melissa sends DS-230

September 13, 2004 NVC Completes Case!!

I can only guess that this was for our K3 application that we ditched after we got a RFE and our CR1 was coming along nicely so we figured the heck with the K3... We never sent anything in for the RFE for the K3 and that was in October 2004... :blink:

I came to the US with my CR1 visa on April 2nd, 2005... :lol:

Oh My! I've always fiqured those peeps at USCIS were smoking some good weed but it must be a LOT better than I thought! :wacko:

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

Stuff like this needs to be forwarded to your Senators and Congressmen. They can't fix the problem unless they know about it. (Wishful thinking that they are capable of fixing it)

I have been convinced for quite some time that the USCIS Website updates and email system are corrupt and usless. They obviously have a problem with the "automatic" features of this system or at least subject to even the slightest human error that could trigger this.

My experience was similar but not so extreme when I applied for my I-485. My application was first denied due to lost mail, then reopened and finally approved. During the reopening procedure, I applied for Advance Parole and Employment authorization, because I didn't know how long the final adjucation would take. Well, a few months after I got my Green Card I received mail from the USCIS: Your Advance Parole is approved - Yeah!

Our I-129F was approved long after it became irrelevant, too (see the timeline in the signature below), but yours seems to be even worse than ours.

Clearly, the different petitions go through different offices and are handled separately on their own timelines.

Oh well, congrats on the approval!

04 Apr, 2004: Got married

05 Apr, 2004: I-130 Sent to CSC

13 Apr, 2004: I-130 NOA 1

19 Apr, 2004: I-129F Sent to MSC

29 Apr, 2004: I-129F NOA 1

13 Aug, 2004: I-130 Approved by CSC

28 Dec, 2004: I-130 Case Complete at NVC

18 Jan, 2005: Got the visa approved in Caracas

22 Jan, 2005: Flew home together! CCS->MIA->SFO

25 May, 2005: I-129F finally approved! We won't pursue it.

8 June, 2006: Our baby girl is born!

24 Oct, 2006: Window for filing I-751 opens

25 Oct, 2006: I-751 mailed to CSC

18 Nov, 2006: I-751 NOA1 received from CSC

30 Nov, 2006: I-751 Biometrics taken

05 Apr, 2007: I-751 approved, card production ordered

23 Jan, 2008: N-400 sent to CSC via certified mail

Hey, congrats :) (and congrats on the 10 year GC too!)

The online status for my AP only switched to "Approved" last year (2 years after the fact) -- and for some reason, when I filed my I-751 app, the first thing that was "touched" was my Employment Authorization application from 2004!! I agree, stuff like this needs to be shown to the powers-that-be so that they have first-hand evidence of how incompetent the USCIS is. I actually sent a rather ranting email to my congressman and both senators a while ago (complaining about the complete ^&$* up that is the USCIS and how we are spending a fortune on a truly abysmal 'service'), and did get a really nice response back from my congressman asking if there was anything he could do to help with my current application. My reply was "not right now, but you'll likely hear back from me next year when I file my N-400 application"...

09-03-1999: Arrive in US on F1 visa - later changed to J1 after graduation

09-04-1999: Met future hubby (still can't agree on which pub we met in)

10-23-2003: Got engaged!

10-24-2003: Submitted I-129F visa petition to VSC - approved 12-17-03

02-18-2004: Medical done and K1 visa issued in London - returned to US 02-29-04

04-16-2004: Got married!

05-03-2004: Submitted AOS/EAD/AP to Boston - NOA 05-06-04

06-02-2004: Biometrics done

07-30-2004: EAD approved & received card

07-31-2004: AP approved - letter arrived 08-05-04

02-19-2005: AOS Interview letter arrived
