My wife is waiting on her naturalization interview. After that she'll want to get her Philippine citizenship back. We have to travel to the San Francisco embassy from Montana unfortunately. My son is already a dual citizen, so we don't have to worry about derivative citizenship correct? Also, any tips for the dual citizenship process? We just want to have our ducks in a row. We already have a report of marriage and report of birth from the Philippines for our marriage and our son's birth.

There really is no official designation as a "dual citizen."  If you have valid passports from 2 different countries, you're a dual citizen.  But there's no document that says you're a dual citizen.  Verify with the embassy before the trip but I think if you have her NSO/PSA BC, your NSO/PSA MC, her US and RP passports, you should be good to go.  Make sure they are open and if you need to make an appointment.  And don't forget your money, $50 I think.

You don't need to do ROM if you are doing US Naturalization?

Never seen that as part of the process

Why would you need to do the ROM for Naturalization? That is purely a Filipino process not a US one

ROM not needed for US citizenship, but might be required as part of the dual citizen application.

Houston and LA don't require a ROM or PSA MC.  It is only required in lieu of not having a PSA BC.  San Francisco, on the other hand, is hard core with the requirements, and the ROM/PSA MC is a listed requirement.

As always, each consulate makes up their own rules and requirements.

Finally done.
