Hi!

Did anyone experience the same issue? Due to the pandemic, our K1(Fiancé visa) CEAC status has been changed to refused even without us going through any interview. There was no notification or e-mail sent out and we have no information on why there was a refusal.

Any information will be of great help! Thanks!

Normal for someone who hasn't even had an interview, as the OP seems to be saying?

Thank you! Appreciate the response! We also just got info back from the embassy and they said that if you miss your interview, the status will automatically be changed to "Refused". For this case, they cancelled the interview due to the pandemic so it is just a waiting game till the US Embassy opens interviews for K-1s again.

I just checked mine and it says it changed on 3.19.2021

Has yours moved yet or are you able to get an interview?

Yes normal.  Embassy started using REFUSED instead of READY/AP a few years back.  DENIED is the one no one wants.

Yes, I know......but generally the REFUSED is a status one sees only after an interview, not before.

Mine appeared as "Expired" last week. I made several calls and was informed that I needed to email a signed and scanned letter stating the reason we were unable to schedule an interview (obvious). Just this morning it now appears as "Refused." Some state here it's normal. I wish they would use words that were more accurate and less panic-making. What about "In Progress" or "Status being updated"?

Did your passport get returned right after your interview with the Consul ? Or did they return the passport a few weeks after the interview was completed and the Consul said your visa was for approval?

After my interview they give my passport back cause I have missing documents my Spanish background check that was March 9 when I get my Spanish background check I send it to us embassy with my passport but they mail me that they need the translation to my Spanish to English and when is done I send it august 10

and I got my passport today with no stamp or letter that I got denied, or mail, and when I check my visa status it’s already refused on august 12 202, that mean it’s deny?

From the looks of it, if your passport has been returned with no visa on it, you may have gotten denied. Although, I am not entirely sure. You may want to call the US Embassy hotline for your country or send an e-mail to them to verify if that is really the final status and case. You may also request for a reason if possible.
