How did Trump live up to his slogan and Make America Great Again?

Trump inherited a strong and growing economy and it continued to grow under his watch. Obama inherited an economy that had tanked and many business suffered from 2007 to 2010 or so. If memory serves me correctly, Bush was President before Obama. 
 

Here in the Northeast, business was booming for a few years before Obama’s second term ended. Things continued to thrive under Trump. 
 

Obama’s talk of gun control led to ammunition hoarding, and that was nothing compared to what it is like today. 
 

Gas prices also rose at the beginning of Trumps term, there is a thread here about it. Of course the deep freeze in Texas has nothing to do with gas prices today just as Katrina had nothing to with gas prices. Gas prices have never been affected by refinery shutdowns. 
 

And I’m sorry to hear that your life is going down the tubes again since Biden was elected.

Oh, and I’m surprised that Trump even cared about a vaccine since the virus wasn’t real anyway. Other nations developed a vaccine in the same time frame as the US. Science brought you the vaccine, not Trump. And we all know science isn’t real.

Trump inherited a stalled economy and turning it into a booming economy, that's a fact, Cutting regulation, lowering the capital gains tax, cutting taxes for Americans, it all played role to Trumps booming economy, Obama on the other hand did the direct opposite, that's why the economy limped along for 8 years.. .

Barack Obama is trying to take credit for the booming economy under President Trump. “When you hear how great the economy is doing right now,” Obama said on the campaign trail for Democratic candidates a few days ago, “let’s just remember when this recovery started.”

 

By this logic, the Kingston Trio laid the groundwork for the Beatles.

 

But the contrast in economic performance between the two presidents is undeniable. Obama’s multitrillion-dollar spend-and-borrow policies produced 2 percent growth. In his final year, Obama handed off to Trump an economy that was limping at 1.6 percent.

 

After only 18 months in office, Trump has elevated growth to 3 percent on an annual rate and the latest projections are that the growth rate for the second and third quarter (which ends Sept. 30) will be over 4 percent. One might say all it took to get the economy really crackling was getting Obama out of office.

 

Obama is right that this has been a long recovery — beginning in June 2009. But the real economic boom started almost the day after the election in 2016 with the surge in small business, investor and consumer confidence.

Don't know where you came up with that, my Business is not going down the tubes YET, but it will, Under Democrat leadership it's inevitable,  Biden and Democrats are on track to repeat the same job killing mistakes of the past through over taxation and over regulation.

I tend to agree with you about Trump, but I think that was mostly due to the pandemic stuff in 2020, if he hadn't injected himself into the fray daily, I think he would have been re-elected.  Also, he did have to have help from Congress, and even with two years of GOP majority in the House, I am not sure he had all their support.  With Old Joe, it really seems he is much more interested in keeping the extreme Left crowd happy, of course we shall see, but looking at the legislation the Dems are prepping including the one recently passed titled some sort of Covid relief, it appears they are trying to do some fundamental changes to stay in power.  If their infrastructure, voting, immigration bills pass, Joe will sign them regardless of what the soccer moms think.  Personally, I see Joe as a one term idiot.

If you're retired or have a public sector job, I can see where it would be good and even great under Obama, Democrats are all about growing the public sector while regulating and punishing the private sector..  If you were to ask small business owners how they would rate the economy under Obama, they'd likely say it was Bad to OK, hobbling along.. Ask them to rate the Trump economy and most would say it was GREAT!
