Hello, I'm just starting this journey. I'm in the process of filling out the application. I wasn't able to fill out online, so I printed and filled out as neatly as possible..I hope it passes!! I want to make sure I have everything included correctly. A couple questions: From what I understand, we both have to fill out and sign an intent to marry form. Does it have to be the same form? Or do we each do a separate one? The big question that I get mixed answers about, can my fiance print and sign her form in Colombia (where she is from) and scan and email me a copy, then I'll print it and nclude it in my package? Will that be acceptable?? Another question...I will include  a brief description of how we met and what our intentions are...I'll sign and date it. Does she also have to do the same thing? Or will mine be sufficient? Thanks in advance for and help, tips, and Or pointers!!!

Hello, I have one more question I'm struggling with. My fiance is not fluent in English yet. If she types up a letter about our relationship and intentions, and also needs to sign the intent to marry form. How do we translate it to English, so that it will be acceptable? Can she just type me the letter, and use the email translator? Also with the intent to marry form, it's very basic. Can she just sign the English version? 🤯🤯🤯

there are many human online translators who can provide a certified translation.

if you are fluent in her language you can translate it and certify the transaction.

omit this.

The form I-129F has a 6 line box where you enter the date and place where you met.  Use that.  If there have been multiple meetings list those too.

Include  on separate sheets of paper evidence of physical meetings: airline receipts, hotel reservations, photos together. One photo per trip.

Huh! For some reason I don't remember seeing that on the application. I will have to look! Is that sufficient enough? Or do I need to write an entire story about us and our journey? I get mixed answers everywhere I look. Then, does she need to write basically the same story that I write?

Thanks for the advice..I will have to search for this. Not sure how the process works. Why so many hoops to jump through! Just want to be with the woman I love!! Lol...it can be very overwhelming and frustrating!

LOL.  You're new to US immigration....      it is a lot of work, time and money.  Suggest you do a great deal of research and reading.

Btw, there is no "intent to marry form."

I promise USCIS does not want to read your story. The requirement is ONE meeting with evidence of such.   Any extra fluff you send in will mean extra adjudication time for the petition.

No such form exists.   You write a statement.

Lol..really!!? So your saying it's not necessary to write the love novel about my story?? Every youtuber/Google advice says to write about yourselves and how you met, and fell in love, and proposed etc! I would rather not, but if it's required I was ready to get out the type writer and start making my mock draft! Lol

YouTube is maybe not the best source of accurate info about US immigration?

They do not want a story. Google and YouTube are probably not the best sources. Check with people on here who have been through the process already.

The I-129F has an area where you can write in a brief description of your in person meeting.

Mine was something like this:

I traveled from St. Louis, Missouri USA to Manila, Philippines on 05 May, 2019 and met my then girlfriend who had flown from her home city of Davao.

Together we spent the next few weeks traveling around the Philippines, seeing different areas including Cebu where we got engaged. I was also able to meet and spend time with her family on multiple occasions.
